I hope Roki comes to my METS,but if he is fixated on the west coast like most Japanese baseball players,he will go to the Dodgers. However,If it’s solely up to the NYC 🗽 teams because he doesn’t have that strong west coast preference,I love my METS chances🙏🏾. LGM💙🧡.

Please have all these so-called professional baseball experts who report the latest signings and trades learn the correct pronunciation of foreign player’s names. In most cultures, especially Asian countries, it’s a sign of disrespect to not learn the correct pronunciation of another person’s first and last name. Phonetically, it’s Sa sa ki not sa za ki!

Dealing with the U.S. media will be a cakewalk in comparison. What he endured in Japan were outright bullying and hazing. Negative articles were published almost daily, often based on unproven rumors or outright lies, with online anti-fans gleefully piling on.

If he picks the dodgers, then Japanese players need to enter the draft. Enough is enough that Japanese players are not giving non west coast teams a shot. Blind bids and pick an envelope needs to be implemented right away.

Not only yamamoto and ohtani ! Treinen was released they made him an all star , kopech had like 7 era with the dodgers had 1,16 era the best closer in that period of time ! Big market ,Japans team ,Sasaki is coming to win a world series ,the dodgers will win the division every year and probably they will win 6 world series at least the next decade , they have like 8 all stars caliber pitchers , they can run 6 to 7 man rotation,the won 2020 and 2024 and that 2017 ws was not played fair ! Different scenario. Yamamoto played long enough in the NPB to get to the stage where he was an unrestricted free agent, able to have teams seriously bid in him. Sasaki is an international prospect, and is therefore not getting a huge contract. He is subject to the IFA prospect rules and the money pool.for those prospects. The most any team can offer is, I believe, 7.9 million.

Very optimistic, but he’s going to the Dodgers. If he did go to the Yankees, it’s to play in a weak division to pad stats before FA. All the Stars, besides 4-5, are in the NL.

With the dynamic duo of Hal and Cash, it's hard to be optimistic. Haven't signed a Japanese free agent since Tanaka in 2013. They've missed out on a bunch of guys

@@greghughes8147 you said after tanaka. If you recall kuroda was a Yankee his last three seasons. Yu Darvish was also signed before tanaka and he's had an inconsistent career. Anyone could have had him a few times now. Okajima wasn't even supposed to be good the Red Sox got lucky with him.
