♡ Hey guys! So this ones a bit different. It's my first grwm style video which i really enjoyed making ^^ buuuut unfortunately I've been having a really rough time at work. Some of you know I've been struggling a bit and honestly we all do sometimes! I'm currently a chef and while I'm used to working really hard and for really long hours without legal breaks (typical hospo) what I'm not used to is the treatment some of my co workers and myself are subject to. Being shouted and sworn at with a finger pointing in your face, being called names and made to feel manipulated to the point where you think you deserve this treatment is just not right. The best example I can give you is like how Gordon Ramsay acts. Yes maybe you expect this of the chefing/hospitality industry but no sorry that's not OK! Not in this day and age it's not acceptable to treat anyone like this! There are other factors with my work place that are bringing me down too but I'm trying not to say too much because I still work there. I just needed someone to chat to. I really hope you are not in a similar situation to me because I know how much it hurts and how much you can start to believe the awful things shouted at you. I hope to be able to bring you some happiness in my next video! Thank you for being here ♡

My last job was working in a Korean restaurant and let me tell you, it was THE WORST WORK EXPERIENCE EVER! I had to work long shifts with no breaks, the free food and drinks were nice but you can't really enjoy it when you only get 5 mins to gobble it all down. My boss was even trying to manipulate me into quitting school so I could work full time in the shitty restaurant full time. I honestly couldn't take it, what made it worse is that I caught mononucleosis during my time there and I became very depressed and I was always tired/sleeping. It only lasted a few months and it honestly makes me never want to work part time ever again. I feel where your coming from and I really sucks that you have to go through all that.

I was so upset listening to this, you are so right, no one should ever have to get used to being abused in the workplace. It's awful that the industry you work in has such a reputation for this behaviour, and I'm so glad that you know you don't have to accept it ❤️ you are so talented and amazing and you'll find something that makes you happy!

Your experience in the chef industry is just like my experience doing ballet and competitive dance. Not only are the days long and physically exhausting, but the verbal abuse is so normalized and people brush it off because it happens so often, but I agree with you. No matter the industry, abuse should never be ok! I hope that things are going better for you now, I've been having a rough time lately and I've been watching all your chatty videos and it really helps me calm down and everything is so relatable so thank you for that :)

To chef to chef i believe that happiness is more important than money. We all want to live good and have nice things, but whats the point of having nice things if u cant enjoy them. I use to work on a restuarant and it wasnt easy, the managers were rude and very disrespectful, it got so bad i have to go to the mental hospital because i discovery that i suffer from depression and anxiety plus i tried to commet suicide inside the kitchen. We dont know each other but we both work on the same field, make time for things that make u happy, for the things that u use to look forward after a shift.💕💖

💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸💕 Oh doll I am so sorry...I hope it starts getting better. No one deserves to be treated that way. Industry shouldn't be an excuse or norm. It's abuse and y'all don't deserve it!! I am grateful I never had an aggressive boss. He just didn't listen or care what we had to say. All he cared was that we made him money. Especially when his partner retired he was so lost and the shop could barely function. Half the staff quit after the partner retired. Including his assistant. Please don't let this job take you down. Your mental health and wellbeing are priority!! I have been super stressed and depressed this past year. I left my last job this time last year. I haven't been able to find work since. I had no clue you where from New Zealand, glade to support another fellow kiwi. Hospitality sucks in New Zealand sadly, it’s a very unfair industry and horrible environment for anyones mental health (though not all places are like that I’m glade to work in a lovely cafe with a loving work environment). No one should be treated like that in any work industry or in general. Please look after yourself and just remember you are loved and wanted, and someone wants you to make it home safely. You don’t need to live up to anyone’s self worth but your own and only strive to be the person you want to be. Sorry for the sappy comment, hope you feel better soon and look after yourself. Ps. It hurts my heart to see how upset you are! I completely relate to the hospo struggle, working 10-12 hours with a 10 minute break, it's truely soul-crushing and tiring. Hah bc it's hospitality. That's how the industry is and all the other staff adhere to the demands so if you don't they won't hire you. It's very common to work illegal shifts in hospo and it is what it is unfortunate that's definitely why I got out! After 10 years in hospo that is 😅
