Body rotation only happens at the terminal phases of the swing cycle. Rotation is not for driving the something to happen, like create lag and allow the leading leg to backoff to leave needed space for this leading pelvis to slide forward. The real driving force comes from the rotation along the club path. This is not the rotation as we mean usually with an object moves along a plan perpendicular to the axis. For golf swing the axis is parallel to the spine but not the spine itself. For any other sports,this is classified as side bend at the effective zone of driving. A side bend is made of a contract at one side which extend the antagonistic side. The end parts will move at different direction, they call it till back but I never heard any instructor talk about it. I think, under the name of "Academy",it should be pointed out clearly, not just say to rotate somewhere.
