Training your release is important for consistency of contact. If you have trouble taking time off and finding your swing quickly, you could have a release issue. One of the common issues during the release is timing the movements of the unhinge and the supination. These movements should be triggered by the body, but they'll only happen if your brain allows it to do so.

I really liked this tip, it hit home with me. What I have a problem with it is the thing that a lot of instructors focus on. Too much focus on what is wrong. Please tell me what to do, don't tell me what I am doing wrong over and over again! Tell me what is the correct thing to do.

Great video. When should one start supinating?

Try this feel, from the “holding the tray” position at the top of the bs, with the right hand spin the tray counter clockwise while keeping it level.

Should it be a supination motion blended with a motorcycle move at the same time?

Can you tell me the name of the net you're hitting into there? Is it strong enough to stop ball from hitting your garage?

I’ve been golfing for 10 years (poorly) and I’ve gotten 4 lessons. Not a single soul told me about this action here… I’m literally upset because I feel like I’ve been practicing the wrong way my entire golfing life. I’m always wondering why I’m scoopy and flippy through impact, why I hit high right shots, and then fat and thin 70% of the time!!! I really need to re-wire a lot of brain for this. Thanks for posting and i am going to check out the website. I hope you are still actively teaching.

I don't trust 90% of "qualified" teachers out there. Nobody knows what they're talking about. Some of the will state some pretty subjective things that only work for them or a couple other people. Or state stuff that's objective and try to enforce it way too strictly within tight bounds. I mean, sure, a lot of these extreme forms of creating a healthy habit can be good. But like, I am frustrated just as much as you that you are finally catching on to the good healthy habits. I've been there before. But even now, I'm taking this video with a grain of salt. I only watched it because I totally forgot the difference between supination and pronation just like some people forget their right from left haha. Anyway, have a great day!

How is this not loss of lag? By releasing where you recommend, won't a lot of people hit it fat?

From top of BS to impact is less than 1/4 second. There is time at top of BS for one thought(intention). Once DS has begun, there is insufficient time to consciously do anything to interrupt the subconscious chain action. Try at your peril. That one intention: keep the palm of the right hand facing the sky.

Try holding the lag and hitting a golf ball...good luck! I have tried that and it doesn't work at all!

You might be early extending then throwing the club down to make contact. You can hit it fat or thin doing this. Stay down in spine flexion longer and learn to hold your wrist alignments longer and use your pivot to hit the ball.

Exactly how do you "unhinge" and "hold" your wrist alignments longer at the same time?
@jdshilling
@jdshilling 3 жыл бұрын
@@golfweed9947 For a right handed golfer: As the downswing starts, you release the left hand ulnar deviation, but keep the right hand wrist extension. As you come down to the strike area you rotate the arms or do the motorcycle move, or a little of both to square the clubface. Lookup No Turn, Cast drill by Monty S. - The way I think of it is I want to get the club moving as fast as I can from the top yet still keep the lag created by my right wrist extension. My shoulders will stay closed longer, ie. 'back stays to the target' longer than if I try to hold lag with both wrist angles. You will be amazed at how hard you can cast the club from the top yet easily square up the club with forward shaft lean. It is like giving your club head a running start - the difference is startling, so it will only take you one swing to feel the speed.

@@jdshilling But Monte wants people to throw out that right wrist extension as well (or FEEL like they throw it out). Monte's newest No Turn Cast video has 2 throw motions. 1) the downhinge from the top and 2) releasing the trail wrist extension

@@canefan17 Cool - I will have to check it out - Good point about 'feels' vs 'reals'. For me I have to feel that I release in front of the ball and that I have no hold whatsoever. If I try to hold wrist angles, it hurts and is weak.
