First mistake the Vet made was to offer Lily a basic dried box biscuit. Lily's taste are much more refined. lol. All was well when the gourmet food arrived.

When Obi went to the vet last he got found out the vet who has treated him since he was a pup, had retired. My granddaughter to him for me this day, he said hello to the vet nurses. Though as soon as he set eyes on the vet he barked and barked. Then refused to let him go anywhere near him. My granddaughter held him while he got his needles but I also wanted his nails done as well. The vet had to semi-sedate him to even get near him, let alone trim his nails. When he got home my granddaughter said I would have to find a new vet. She said Obi hated this new vet that he was even growling even semi-sedated. Luckily he has the met the vets at the local vet hospital when he cut 2 of his pads. He behaviour was so good, the vet plus their nurses asked how to calm him if needed, I said pick up a brush as he loved being brushed.

And the dogs get positive associations with the crates. The crates on the bus = beach. So they're not a thing to be feared or avoided. They don't = negative experience. Just one more way they equip dogs to deal with every scenario and cope. I really admire that they help dogs who are nervous of storms and thunder by continuing to do activities or work around the Farm. The dogs learn that it's business as usual, and collect enough experience of nothing bad happening that they cease to fear thundery weather. Everything done at the Farm is therapeutic while being fun or interesting or delicious.😊

When I had my two GSD girls many years ago, the small sweet natured one would almost drag me through the door whenever we went to the vet. The other one, who was much more assertive and almost nasty thought it was the end of the world, but once inside, both of them always behaved themselves very well. BTW, I noticed quite some time ago - even before The Farm took her on - that Lily's gait was not quite what it should be, but let's hope whatever is wrong with her can be managed without too much trouble. 🙂

YUP..dysplasia is dominant in GSD..one wud think by now it WUD have been bred out ‼️‼️❓ If you watch dog shows..the GSDs all have that ..low end gate..A few blood lines Don't..it's sad they are simply Wonderful companions.. 💕 love 💕

Miss Violet probably had to fight for her food early on from her siblings when she was a very wobbly pup or maybe she's just always been a hungry wee lass. My rescue pup used to demolish her food in seconds but 2 years down the line she's still food motivated but is slower at eating her dinner. I think perhaps in her case it's because she went for periods of time with no food and no company but I am guessing from her other abandonment issues the rescue people told me about.

we rescued a 8mo. old beagle pit mix. 1 mo later diagnosed with diagnosed with double hip dysplasia. They removed the joints and she is fine but alot of running is out. love ❤️ her 3 years ago.

Aww, Lily! Lots of love, my girl. My dog, also named Lily, has pre- hip dysplasia too. She’s doing physio for it which is helping a lot. Also swimming to strengthen her back legs so how lucky is your Lily to have her own pool! I get exercises from the physio to do at home. They work well to strengthen her hip muscles to decrease the chances of hip dysplasia.

Luke explained in a recent video that each bowl is placed in the same order on the counter top for every meal so they get all the dietary requirements etc correct.
