You're the real MVP! This video was a bunch of help! I've used GSE for years but had no idea about the new keybinding requirement to get the updated GSE format functional. Took me less than five min to make a working macro after watching the first half of the video.

I will be making a basics guide soon. It's not as complicated as it seems, it's just different. There are actually some very basic things that you can do that are very easy and work very well.

@@oakensoul I think what's bummed me out is putting the macro onto my action bar. Using another key isnt easy to press and I liked having them on my action bar as they tended to replace most of my actions ie, button 1 ,2 3 etc. Are Icons for action bars gone completly now ? I don't even think I could play wow without them,

this seems like a lot of work for something that cast sequence macros can basically already do if you are clever enough with your set up... a lot of set up for a marginal gain a majorty of classes can be made i to relatively efficient one button macros with just the basic Macro system, but ove started to learn that this can be inefficient in cases where you may have to use human decision making and modify that behavior, i.e. a boss takes flight, or an add pulls aggro to a wrong place, any unexpected behavior and having your spells locked into a macro and not just useable on the fly can actually bottleneck your damage and prevent you from handling an emergency. this is why i recently actually unbundled a lot of my spells to be used independently, for those saying they have hand injuries thos is a miracle worker but i wouldnt recommend it otherwise.

Yeah, it was a bit touch and go there for a bit, but Timothy Luke was able to make things work pretty similar to the way it works in Dragonflight. There is now a 255 character limit per action block now, and if macrotext is used, you have to keybind (which my sequences will be using macrotext).

love your vid. saved me so much headache. any chance you can do a vid on creating a ahk tutorial on how to make it click on 1-3 action bars, and how to switch how often it clicks each of the action bar. i've watched several ahk videos. none of them say anything on doing that, and instead either tell you how to write things in macro keybinds or how to macro keybinds to controllers.

Hay Oak. Ty for the vids. Have you had any issue's with keybind seq switching when you change loadouts? For example. Say you have your m+ build bound to 3. And you change builds to a single target build for raid with its sequence bound to 3, but when you switch builds, it doesnt switch sequences even though you set it up to in the keybind tab of gse?

Hey Oak, i have used your macros for years and i have loved them. One question about your gse window. How do you make it bigger? My window is half that size and when i click on the macro under the seq tab the next window is really small. Any help would be appreciated.

You can drag the GSE UI to whatever size you prefer by clicking and dragging the bottom left corner. Hope this helps!

You would have to check your sequence. Depending on who's sequence you imported it could engage combat differently.

@@oakensoul Strange because I exported exactly as it was, the macros and the sequence that was on the page and it still gave an error. In my druid for example the ST gave this same problem, but in AOE it works normally. When I tried in Pala it gave an error, it puts and removes the target in focus.

In the old GSE I was able to copy a talent tree and import the talent tree. Will that be available as well?

That functionality is in the new GSE, but I'm not sure for how long. The fact of the matter is that most people don't just use one talent build anymore. And Tim is actively working on making GSE's keybinds able to change based on your talent loadout which I'm not sure that would work well to include the talent tree in GSE. However, it is still there now. :)

Correct. Many dragonflight sequences go over that limit and will no longer work in GSE 3.2

Were you able to get reset working? I am having issues where the only way I get into combat is with a 30 yard dot, and all my sequences only fire while [combat] except this dot for example /targetenemy [noharm] [nodead] /startattack /castsequence Outbreak, Festering Strike, Scourge Strike, Festering Strike, Scourge Strike, Scourge Strike after being out of combat and trying again, it never seems to want to restart this sequence, as when I spam the sequence it states Out of range, meaning it's trying to do Festering Strike or Scourge strike. I have also tried /targetenemy [noharm] [nodead] /startattack /castsequence reset=combat Outbreak, Festering Strike, Scourge Strike, Festering Strike, Scourge Strike, Scourge Strike with the same result, if I auto attack then it all works, just the starting combat seems to be having issues.

I only used the new GSE update for an hour. So far I just leave where the macro is empty on the action bar as I am use to using GSE on number 3 and 4. I don't know if there is a way to have the macro visible on the bar and still functional as a keybind. The magic of GSE is way less need to look at your action bar for the inexperienced or Altoholics. Having the blank space isn't bothering me.

Yes, it is broken. It wont work if done in a macrotext block within the sequence. However, if you make an in game macro, and then call to that macro, it can work then. It's still a little wonky though

This is more about accessibility for most and QoL for others. Sequences will never be perfect but they can achieve good results. Right now logs are borked as it IS end of expansion and pre-patch.

This has been answered many times over the years. An addon is allowed as long as it's one press of a button and only one action takes place. As indicated in the video, this addon is NOT SMART, it's basically the equivalent of smashing your face against your keyboard, except with some mathematical probability thrown in, which surprisingly works.

Problem with these videos is people that have no clue assume it’s automating. It’s not. It simply will allow some people with disabilities to play the game. Instead of pressing the buttons with multiple fingers you have one. It’s in no way smart and top players would never use it. It allows some people to get by. There’s no timing to it you can’t select exactly what you want to do. It’s very basic.

For those that can't, or don't want to play the piano to play wow, it can make a few specs easier to play to a moderate level, not an expert level. It does free up brain power to focus on what enemies are doing and using utility and defensives well. Many other macros can be used for @cursor purposes and you'll still need separate buttons for utility and defensives to be semi-successful, but yeah, having 8 or so rotational damage buttons on one key is a big help. Typically I use one GSE macro for Single target damage and another for AOE. In my experience it works best for Prot Pally, Ret, MM, BM, WW and HDH. There is probably more that can use it well but I don't play every spec. To your question of is it a ToS violation, no. Sequential macros with 13 or so abilities made in wows own UI were able to aid me in Mists of Pandaria way before I knew about GSE.

A lot of people do not have the ability to play the game the way you do. This helps. It's an accessibility issue. This addon in no way guarantees a perfect rotation, it essentially just hits buttons and hopes to hit the right thing at the right time.
