@@Dryzual Oh, the DEI crap has already made it into WW with the black, disabled woman who's also a half elf and who's a big name character with the arathi. She's briefly shown in the recent WW trailer. You can also count on a few quests where you help some alphabet NPC's find love and the infinite dragonflight has been going on and on about "our truth" whatever that means. If anyone is thinking Metzen being back is going to truly turn the game around, back to a time of Legion- don't get your hopes up.

I'm way more excited for Midnight than The War Within, the Void expansion is what I've been waiting forever for. I'm so glad Azshara gets her own expansion, but I'm not sure if she will be the final boss, she might be the 2nd patch final boss, she's also pretty much the last old lore villain we have left alive besides Sargeras. I think Midnight might be like a Cataclysm 2.0 where the entire world will be covered in shadow and completely destroyed and void corrupted. I also think will fight Turalyon, especially if Alleria dies. If Azshara isn't the final boss, than I suspect the final boss might be a Void Lord.

And obviously Legion had been finally following stories that had been put in place all the way back in WC3. I can't express enough just how much I'm looking forward to the worldsoul saga. It looks like Metzen is going to have a real chance to finally plan multiple expansions. the way it always should have been. And give us an ending to beat even the Legion conclusion. Midnight is going to be cool, just based on the basic rules of a trilogy: It's still going to have the regular bits of story that any other story would, with a beginning, a struggle, and victory - But because this is the second story within a trilogy, it falls in the dark part of the larger storyline. The second part of any trilogy is typically like the end of anything else, but always with some kind of uncertainty because of where it lies within the bigger picture.

I think other MMO's need to take note of this. What people need is not quick hit stories, they need longer well crafted narratives that create and develop meaningful characters. These "this expansion is the only part game that matters" is hurting MMOs but having a longer lore based narrative that is intentionally crafted is as good as we can hope for.

@BellularGaming It's criminal that you wouldn't bring up the Blood Elf Heritage quest line quest. Considering it stars Alleria visiting said Sunwell, and almost corrupting it with Void on accident and being banished by the blood elves from visiting it anymore. All of those are kind of the main points of this video. It's probably more Alliance bias from this channel. Fun fact Blood Elves are high elves, the same army, same city, same people same land, blue eyes and all. They just changed their name to honor the dead.

“Uniting lost Elven Tribes”. You know that the elves have nations of their own such as the Blood Elven Regenecy of Quel’thalas, the Night Elven Nation of Amirdrassil and the Nightbourne Magocracy of Suramar. But it is a cool concept for Elves of all kind to unite against the Void Lords, Night Elves, Nightbourne, High Elves, Blood Elves, Void Elves and maybe the Half Elves. I do imagine that either the Under Trolls or Half Elves will be playable in the Midnight Expansion.

I think the awakening has to do with elune. So many creatures of ligh have a shadow side, the stuff that fell from the sky were the tears of elune from the blue child story - which are the light crystals. Even these crystals have a void and light side. The awakening will wake up the shadow aspect of elune. Or it could be literal and awaken the sleeping world soul (which I think is “dreaming” existence into the cosmos.

Then BE players might realise they are the baddies. Even the way Garithos treated them was caused by the HE abandoning Garithos' parents to die because they thought it distasteful that elves might die for humans. Or that the reason they largely ignored The Second War was that they were trying to slither unnoticed out of the Alliance. I really wish that the Horde as a whole would get a good dose of introspection and come to the realisation of, "Oh f---, WE ARE THE BADDIES!" Thrall's Horde is a good definition of "The road to hell is paved with good intentions," as the system of his Horde was based heavily on Fascistic ideology and, I hope the creators never realised that they had done this, made it an analogy of the Lost Cause myth complete with the anti-Semitic trope of dual loyalty. Blizzard would never do that as then the "We like to be morally grey" player base would wake the f--- up, smell the coffee and realise that the "morally grey" they like is a really Fascistic ideology and that by supporting it they are in fact pure evil and then they would be so mad. @@nielsjensen4185 The High Elves didn't leave Garithos' parents to die....it was just the stupidity of Garithos that took all the Alliance troops out of that village with him, so that when the Orcs came, they found no human guard defending the town and so they could kill every civilian in that village...but that's the fault of Garithos for leaving no human soldier around to protect his own parents, and then in order to find a scapegoat, he just projected his own blame onto the whole Quel'dorei race instead (and anyway, the High Elves were already busy defending Quel'thalas from the Horde, and so they couldn't protect Lordaeron too). Also, Void Elf lore will obviously be present alongside Blood Elf lore in Midnight, and about the Quel'dorei lore...well, if you mean not the lore of the whole race but only the lore of the High Elves who are in the Alliance, then they have pretty much been absorbed into the ranks of the Void Elves anyway...

Xal'atath is an old god and if i remember correctly, you found out in legion that the blade Xal'atath was the reason for the forsaken having priests at all because they learned to wield the shadow priest powers from studying it and using it. Shadowlands is just the overall name of the realms of death, but they use death or necromantic magic which is its own type of magic

My thoughts on the sarkareth chamber......I look at the thing, and it almost looks like a sort of...shark cage? like maybe neltharion hadn't originally tried to use the old gods as a source of power, and instead tried to insert a research station into the void realm so as to get a 'pure' connection to the void, not realizing it only made himself more vulnerable to the old gods anyway.

I may actually come back to the game for this, I left after Burning Crusade, came back for Legion and left again near the end of that. My original main was a Blood Elf Paladin, I always really liked the Blood Elf zones and was put off that they never really expanded on it much beyond the Burning Crusade. I lost access to my original account and my original characters, Heck I can't even remember my Legion login now so I'll have to create yet another new account most likely, ah well.

Ok, I didn' t know that Zul'Aman was supposed to be as large as half of Quel'thalas, this gives a lot of new opportunities for expansion of the old zones, while also hopefully getting rid of that loading that's required to even enter Quel'thalas. However, I don't want to see the Void Elves get a foothold in Quel'thalas, they're too dangerous to have anywhere near the Sunwell. They knowingly betrayed the Blood Elves by studying the void, and they have to face the consequences. The forest Trolls as a new allied race, maybe, or they'll turn into antagonists loyal to the void. But with all big groups there'll be some who resists and some who joins the void (or other monster power), just like with Kael'thas Blood Elves with the fel, the orcs with losing themselves to Bloodlust and the Draenei with Sargeras' corruption. Races are divided by this sort of thing, some ally with the players, and most often live, while others turn even more dangerous.

All I want from this expansion is finally getting playable Nagas. Everything else is going to be nice addition, but if I dont get to finally play them, the feel of expantson is going to be "it was ok".
