As a professional firefighter for 6 years and an electrician I have first hand knowledge of how important this is. I have always used metal fixing in my installs for years for this reason. I would like to add one of the worst is flexible ducting not being supported and collapses like a massive slinky toy, leading to one of the worst entanglements. Good video 👍🏻

Presence of RCD, if it wasn't a requirement at the time say 14th edition and it's sockets on the ground floor then it would be retrospective. If it's in a loft feeding a TV booster then it's potentially a C3. Just like premature collapse would be a C3 unless it could cause entanglement to the fire fighter or escapee which will be C2. The regs are not retrospective, except for the ones that perhaps came out because for example some people have been killed because of it, then when that reg gets applied to an EICR you will likely either call it a C2, or a risk assessment to see if it will be a C3 or C2 such as absence of RCD and absence of appropriate fixings to prevent premature collapse.

Best Practice Guide 4 (issue 5) is an industry standard and one of the organisations involved who created it is NAPIT... On page 15 it says C3, but would be a C2 if for example an escape route (excluding individual dwellings). So are they saying one thing on video and publishing another on paper??? It could be dangerous to a fire fighter in a single dwelling too!!!

Think if I recall correctly, they are advising NOT to use conventional plastic wall plugs, but rather wall dog screws (like tap con screws) now instead
