For those wondering about the armor, the model is now on tanks gg, and TLDR no, it's not great. Turret is about 190-210mm effective for the most part, some small parts reach a bit higher, but nothing you can rely on at tier 9. Hull is about 170-180 on even ground, barely reaches autoricochet angle at max gun depression, but since the turret is oscillating they can just shoot that instead. If you raise the gun, the sides get a bit more usable, but the mantlet is still only ~200. Turret roof is also overmatchable by pretty much anything even at tier 7. Has some sidescraping potential, but as soon as you expose any of the turret or front hull, it's easy pens. So it's pretty much a bad Centurion 7/1 with one extra degree of gun depression and slightly better camo. Also weirdly enough it has cheaper shells (both APCR and HESH), by significant margin too, even tho it's basically the same gun.

Recently (I'd say the past 3 years) holdiday ops is the only time of the year that I'm genuinely excited to play WOT. It's become kind of like a tradition for me to quit throughout the entire year, untill december to see what the new lootbox tanks are and such, however this is the first year that I've honestly not been having any fun playing WOT at all. Last game played is a good example of why game is becoming NOT fun anymore. Tanks go into choke points and everyone shoots weak points on turrets. And on other side a (Bull&@$?) EBR races around lights 3/4 map up in 45 seconds. Vision and speed have made the maps so small. Miss the days of tactics and teamwork. Not having entire map lit up in first minute. Please give us bigger open maps and slow down the EBR’s. Shouldn’t be able to go 70 kph while zigzagging on ice, mud, or sand without losing traction. 🤘😎 Tankers

In my experience with the Patton (Yes, I play the Patton, it's a fun handicap for me) I liked it bc of its cupola spotting and view range, its trollish armor as an added bonus, it will be cool to see how people like me find ways to make this tank work, I will also be trying to find how it plays best and three mark it.

Yep. The hull is baseicly a Centurion hull with less armor, and the turet is a GSOR 1008 turret, with a touch of extra armor plates in the frontal side.

turret armor is DS, 154 sloped, but it's like it's 187-217 when it using all 11 degrees, so pretty much every t8 tank can pen it, t9/10 are gonna murder this thing, just like the patton, and the patton arguably has better armor somehow, patton also has 300mm heat, and as ass as the armor is on the patton, it can still bounce quite a lot if its using all its depression as some armor angles are effectively over 1k. :I

On console, I have played it and it has pretty decent turret armour. And is a 4shot autoloader. I don’t know why they took away the autoloader for PC version. It would’ve made it more of a unique tank vs the other UK tanks.

I gotta say, playing the devil's advocate here, its more playable and more fun to play gsor than patton the tank. I find it easier to go for a bulky semi brawler support build. The dispersion, speed and view range matters less when supporting heavy tanks on ridge lines. Despite the camo, it's better to go close quarters. The armor is nonexistent, the spaced armor dont really help much either despite the lucky bounces and HEAT absorbtion. The speed is slow, but its nimble. Its comfortable like driving AE phase 1, so i find myself more comfortable supporting the heavies like AMX 120. The pen is also very comfortable and F2P friendly, HESH is also so much fun when i manage to flank the sides and rear. Trying to min max the spotting on this tank doesnt work for me. The camo is verry misleading, it makes you want to play a scout-sniper role when it is the weakest aspect of it because of the accuracy, mobility and view range issues, but the camo is servicable when relocating amongst heavy tanks, managed to pull myself out of sticky situation against non optics russian tanks. All in all, i still prefer playing this over patton, heck, even OBJ 777. It's terrible stat wise, but it's fun.

The accuracy isn't great, but not bad enough that I would bother with using improved aiming or the new experimental aiming, especially with such bad dispersion factors. Vert. stabs is definitely the way to go IMO.

These free tier 9 tanks are a cool idea. The tier 2 and 3 gift tanks are not worth playing but at tier 9 they are fun enough to play for a few battles. I just wish that WG gave Patton the Tank and GSOR the Tank something interesting. Not overpowered, but interesting. Like in this case, I am convinced that WG could have given GSOR the Tank a 3 shell autoloader without making it too strong. The gun handling is weak and the tank is too slow to make it dangerous. Patton the Tank should have been given more view range to make up for the barn of a cupola.

it is literarily turret of GSOR1008 TD with two aerodynamic plates on it and hull of the Tier VIII heavy slapped together. They didn't even bothered to change looks of the gun but they have just slapped stats of Centurion 7/1 on it minus gun handling and DPM. There are no advantages. That turret is not good. Gun handling either and speed is awful. So best about it is that it is slightly better than Patton the Prank.
