I saw a white caribou on a pipeline job in Alberta a few years back. Probably a once in a lifetime spotting for me. That is a superb sounding instrument!!!

FYI: You can put $500 down to start the build and they will build as you pay at your own pace. Can’t beat that! (We need to come up with a cool name for that kind of payment plan. The working title for me is “Keeping the Wife off My Back for Buying ANOTHER Guitar” payment method. Admittedly, it’s a work in progress). -Scott

Love your videos John! Especially your guitar reviews, thank you for your work . Big fan of your channel
@azcharlie2009Күн бұрын
John, you could play a cigar box and it would sound great. I'd love to lay down 2 grand for an American guitar, but.... Why? I'm not a professional. I'm not really much more than an intermediate player. All I want is a guitar that looks good, sounds good, and stays in tune. Those Korean, Indonesian, Japanese, and yes... even Chinese builders need to eat, too.. And, they make some very fine guitars.

I ordered the OMD model a few weeks ago. Mike and Tobin have been beyond nice/helpful. They really take care of the customer. I ordered directly from Mike and was on the phone for 45 minutes (talking his head off). He couldn’t have been nicer. -Scott

That is a great sounding guitar, but I still can’t afford it. I’m probably going to end up with an Orangewood. From a D28 and a D42 that has to be sold, to now hoping I can get an Orangewood. Just to have something to pick on in my old age.

I know this might not be in the channel's wheelhouse but I'd really love to see some companies domestic or overseas make high end old style archtops again in the style of original super 400's, D'Angelicos, Epi's and Strombergs at great prices. It seems the flat top market gets all the love while modern arch makers keep going somewhere else with their designs (and pricing).

Always love the reviews, JP! At $2300 I’m not sure I’d call it a budget buy, but looks like a great gigging instrument for someone looking for something different. Hard to believe getting an Adirondack top for that price.

Mr John do you think the bass is clear and strong enough to keep up in bluegrass? I’m a short guy and looking for a om/ooo that can keep up. I know the volume won’t be the same but I’ve had my Martin 00028 for years and the only thing I need is a pronounced bass. I love my small bodies but the only thing comfortable enough with enough bass to be heard is a Martin m36 and I haven’t played one that spoke to me. Also they’re well over 3000 now lol thanks for any input and thank you for all this amazing content!

Just a comment. Don't really expect a reply. If this is the greatest $2,300 guitar, how does it compare with the Hsienmo? Last week, the Hsienmo was the best guitar you could buy.. Thanks

I can understand someone wanting to buy a guitar built in their own country. I guess I'm lucky that I have some great builders to choose from here in Ireland and I do have a Lowden and an Avalon. However, I am happy to buy a guitar from anywhere if the price and quality is right. In most things that means Japan or sometimes other places in the far east but 2300 US dollars for that Cirrus adds the US to the list. P.S. l got to play a lovely little 1940's 'austerity era' all mahogany Martin about 30 years ago and that Cirrus has a similar vibe. Love it.

I also noticed you have it tuned to a low D. Makes it ring better and sound more resonant. Sales trick? I hope not.
@RandyBroyhill-f6e18 сағат бұрын
It’s a good way to tell if a small body has bass clarity. He’s just an awesome demonstrator. I don’t think he’s trying to be a salesmen at all but looking at all of his content. He also gets emotional when people go out of their way to present him with guitars and opportunities. Just seems like a genuine person

i have the eastman e10om-tc. i'd love to hear them side by side. the b&s look to be sapele. too many people argue its merits to be claimed as mahogany, but i consider it to be such. i'm assuming this is a 25.4 (or.5)" scale length? the e10d is 24.9".

I’d be curious to hear that against Yairi FYM60 to see if it holds up. 2K plus not budget priced by any means but if in the Yairi class or Bourgeois Touchstone then a great price for that level guitar!

So 3200.00 canadian then? Ya quite a chunk of change if your a working man or woman on a budget....they are probably worth it tho for the tone and the workmanship.....and again there are cheaper alternatives that would give these a run for their money.......cheers everybody..... =)

@michaelmcdonald3057Күн бұрын
2300$ ? I guess if you factor in inflation to some that may be considered reasonable. If I had that kind of money to spend on a box I believe I would go for a Martin. Tried and true, never loses it"s value, also American made. Nice try until you stated they are "almost hand made." Sounds wonderful and seems high quality, but I own several Asian made acoustics that have excellent sound, playability and workmanship. Blueridge, Cort, Alvarez. not one more than 900$ new. Most guitar players must have more than one instrument, I could not possibly afford a stable of Martins, Collings or Cirrus's.
