This is one of those what ifs or why didn't they! Check out Perry Carlini's '72 Buick Station Wagon converted into a Stage 1 GSX version. Keen eyes will notice the front clip is from a '70 Buick with a correct hood and factory mounted tach. Factory side stripes extend down the 4 doors side and onto the tailgate along with the proper GSX decals give this wagon a factory look. Not stopping there under the hood you'll find a 455ci Stage 1 engine, a Turbo 400 trans with a 4400-4600 Coan converter and a GM 10 bolt 8.5" rearend with a spoool and moser axles. This combination propels this 4000lb heavyweight into the 11's all day long.
There is an interesting history behind this one of a kind Buick wagon. The car originally was owned by a gentleman in Texas who converted it with complete Stage 1 drivetrain to match his original factory Apollo White '70 Buick GSX. The wagon equipped with factory air and cruise control was outfitted with a hitch and was used to tow his GSX from Texas to Bowling Green Kentucky every year for the Buick Nationals. Imagine seeing that beautiful combination rolling down the highway! The wagon eventually would be sold and ended up in Chicago, Illinois where Perry's buddy then bought it. The car which was drove through 8 Chicago winters was also a daily driver making a 20 mile trip from Sleepy Hollow to Elk Grove every day. Some 12 years ago Perry bought the car from his buddy drove it awhile before deciding to drag race it too. Check out Perry's consistent passes as he takes on some of his friends from the Chicagoland Buick Club at Byron Dragway! #buickmusclecars #gsx #stationwagon
