This series of videos is not intended as tutorials, even though I occasionally do some explaning when I think it is worth it, but they are intended as a demonstration of the capabilities of the PMDG 737-800 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and what it can look like when being flown by a professional pilot.

I seriously hate MSFS! All it does is drain my wallet and cause friction with the wife! You sir are an enabler and have personally added to my financial misery. Seriously though what a fantastic sim and with each new add-on, it becomes even more realistic, if that's even possible. Trust me I know. From upgrading my PC to buying honeycomb alpha and bravo msfs is making us spend lol. But that's the flight sim hobby traits. There's a price to pay but we will anyway cause we love it!

Installed this yesterday and was able to use it today. I was expecting a lot of FPS drain but it wasnt too bad given my old computer. I was able to do this pushback with the edit and get the passengers to come from the bus. So I'm happy with my purchase. It gives life to the SIM. The only crappy thing I had to do was with my SSD which I had all the MSFS on. I had it formatted with FAT32 and GSX Pro only installs on NTFS format drives. So I had to reinstall MSFS, the planes, and then GSX Pro. But in the end, It was worth it.

It would be really nice if they gave us a 3rd waypoint in the pushback sequence named ES (Engine Start) that we could place anywhere along the pushback path. When your nose gear goes over this point, the ramp agent says "you are cleared to start engines." This would give us a definitive marker from where we are able to start engines, like just passing outside the red zone. 👍

Another thing to point out would be the tires of the pushback tug pointing in the wrong direction while turning. Asides from that its looking like a great addition to the sim!

Beautiful video and perfect explanations as usual. Keep it up! Now my suggestion to Umberto would be that if it were possible, the swivel of the nosewheel should also be animated. Looking at the video, it seems to not be the case. Watch from 8:40 and you'll notice that the nose wheel is skidding because it's perfectly straight. Maybe it's PMDG that need to take care of this, maybe not.

How do you turn the aircraft? I can move with shift- arrow keys but can't figure out how to turn the aircraft left or right.

Is there a feature to allow the pushback tug to move the nose wheel during a turn? Also would be nice if we could have wing walkers too. Overall happy to see this coming to MSFS. Pushback Toolbar has been fantastic for me but GSX will always be number 1.

Once again, another great video ... I have been using GSX Pro for a while but only encountered the choice of line colours for the first time today. I just went with yellow because I haven't seen anything on this subject. In the real world, are these colours purely for identification purposes or do other rules dictate which colour lines should be used?

This addon looks like a really must have for me. I probably won't really touch the boarding and fueling options and the like and use this exclusively for its pushback. That function alone would be worth the money. I'm so excited for this to be released!!

I see you re still using your mouse for the parking break. How do you do that? PMDG made it harder by needing to push the break before. Their break provedure is causing me a problem

Isn’t the position of the walkout-assistant somehow very far from the tug and pretty close to the wing? 😬 Also, is it possible to pull forward or change the pushback during the push? For example if ATC changes it’s mind? I have to say so far I’m quite disappointed because I anticipated more features than just updated textures…

Would be nice if we could use it on IVAO or VATSIM the followme and edit the txwy and directions for taxing ourselves given by the ATC on the network…. Just something GSX could look into!!

In the FSDT forum someone asked this question and Umberto answered "We know this is a requested feature, and it will eventually come up." So it looks like it can't do it atm but it's something they have on their radar for a future update.

Thank you for the video. Do you think pushback release positions will ever be simulated? They seem to be a pretty important part of the ground movement of some airports yet I rarely see them included in scenery, let alone having GSX push you/pull you onto them automatically :/

People will be able to create custom config files. For GSX for P3D there have been a lot of custom files which featured the tug release points. I'm pretty sure the same will happen with GSX Pro in MSFS. Actually, I'm pretty sure we will get a big database of correct files for airports pretty quickly.

AES had it in DTM for example. GSX never did. Doesn't seem to have it here either.

Ground controllers on VATSIM will start to notice a delay between IFR clearance and push because of GSX 😅

I'm more worried about the delay from giving pushback clearance until people actually move. Move users request pushback clearance first on VATSIM and then click the GSX button to start pushback, which is going to connect the tug first, etc.

GSX is stupid. You need to start your engines to access ATC in MSFS - e.g. to request clearances - but you can't use GSX if your engines are started. So how do you know what way to pushback if you haven't yet gotten clearance, GSX was a complete waste of money for me. I mean I know you just have to turn on electrics to access ATC but for those of us who use 'Ctrl-E' to start everything up, GSX is useless.

Are you sure you don't just need to apply electrical power? Normally that should be enough.

@@A330Driver Yeah, I mentioned that but I'd have to learn the electrical systems for each plane. I just use Ctrl-E to start up everything, which also includes starting the engines. It's a big inconvenience that you can't use GSX with engine running. It's a pointless and debilitating restriction in the app.
