GSX-S1000 - Replacing Brake and ABS Fluid

In this video I am replacing the brake fluid and ABS on my GSX-S1000.
Inspect and change the fluid every 2 years. Old brake fluid will have a high concentration of water in it.

Very important that you don’t release the brake lever while the bleeder is open or you will suck air back up into the system. Make sure you’re holding the brake lever down when you open the bleeder and don’t release it until you retighten it.

I appreciate your videos. Not sure of using paper towels to absorb the brake fluid. Paper towels have a lot of fibers that will get stuck into the system and if someone has ABS them that will introduce issues with it. Again appreciate your videos.✌️

Hi, what size is your tube that you use to fit on your bleeder?

Hi Gino, I don't remember the size from tbe top of my head but it was a standard 3/8 hose for this purpose. You can get a 8mm kit as well that I'd like to buy for when I need to bleed the brakes again. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi a great channel you have many thanks for all you great videos ' Suzuki say to change the brake fluid every 2 years ? seems a little over the top ' I have found every 3 years is fine' fluid Not'cloudy still in good shape ' lastly suzuki say to change rubber brake lines every 4 years lol this a total over kill from suzuki

I was having this conversation with someone recently. Manufacturers suggested intervals are quite aggressive. Another thing I have seen is replacing coolant hoses every ~2 years. I had a Miata with coolant hoses that were 20 years old and weren't leaking/seeping. I am not saying is a bad idea but like you I think it's a bit much.

Yes its the same story with water hoses lol think how many water hoses & brake lines Suzuki would sale if owners did this a great money making scheme , many thanks for your good reply
