GSX1400, the Bomber Run and Night riding!

I take the GSX1400 out for the first time in nearly a year for a Sunday Ride after it's repairs and TLC, talk about the Bomber Run and on bank holiday Monday do some night riding on the R1200GS. Will I meet Black Shuck? For Bomber Run info please go to the Fen Tour Facebook Page.

I bought a black 2007 one in 2009 still have it and rally on it mucky bikers tents beer and bands. Great bike and have changed it over the years to suit me. Been riding over 40 years on many bikes from enduroes to slabside streetfighters to RRX Fireblades. The 1400 has more torque straight out of the box. Nice vid.

Took the screen off mine and know what you mean by tiring, I commute an hour at 70 erm ish on dual carriageway and do get the feeling it's trying to throw me off the back lol. Enjoyed the vid 👍

Cheers... the problem for me with the screen is that it was too easy to go too fast, so without the screen I am tempted to stay legal. However for commuting I think it would be re-attached. ! cheers

I believe the 14 is the best looking machine Kudzuki has ever produced. The motor is a bit anemic though, not enough torques in the low

@@FenTour Yeah that was intended as a yoke as almost 100 ftlbs is quite lovely. I'm a big fan of the 14 but I live where those kind of bikes aren't that popular so it's not sold here in the States. The Bking was only sold here for one year I think it was, just when they finally wised up and ported over a sport bike engine to a standard chassis just as it was without swapping cams and compression ratios for those used in school bus and tow truck motors.

@@mastertek383 The big difference is the roads between the U.S.A and the U.K. The 1400 with low down torque and revving to ten grand is ideal for British roads also if you tighten up the suspension to more or less the top it corners far better than you expect.

Smooth Acceleration, Lovely, my late beloved 05 GSF Bandit 650 inj., Wow. No bike Kawasaki for 27 years, March 19 got a Bandit, at least 58, 59 times more biking joy, than in 84,my nearly new Kawa.750 turbo, that I thrashed, rather have a Bandit. 19, 20 months of BLESSED Bandit Time, Times, got a PhD Masters Degree, in Bandit Torque Enjoyment only, nothing technical. Sadly now a semi retired Banditateer, fekkin Banditaholic, ruined for any other bike, and I ain't even lying. Sincerely Scott Loch. Na, Professor Bandit B.T.E. out.

@@FenTour Negative, kick it in 1st, front wheel off ground, 2nd, wheel down, Planted, Quickly a touch over 80 mph, before the red line???, 2nd gear. 4th 6,500rpm., said 92 mph Actual 89 ???,red lines at 12,000, what no what No WHAT, total biking JOY. And as now a Banditless Banditateer EFFIN Banditaholic, cabs required, tell drivers how Very very special my late beloved Bandit was, one driver, who's brother had a Bandit??, Tells Everyone how Good his bike is, and I get that. @@FenTour Great video, those new lights are certainly bright! I ended up going to Walton on the Naze, same as Hunny barely anyone in sight. Good news I managed to get my Cardo via Bluetooth to iPhone recording my voice as I ride & talk, its pretty clear but I need to play around with mic placement more...... Great to see the Suzuki in action, sounds great nice intake noise too!

Cheers for the comment Paul, back in 2006 I was frustrated with the power delivery and was getting bored of my 14 so went for the Akra and dyno setup. Wow totally transformed the bike, around 15kg less weight, by swapping out the standard system and centre stand. Then there is the power increase, from 108hp to 126hp and 105bl of torque. So much better to ride and more economical too. I do have the original exhaust and centre stand all in perfect condition just in case I sell one day and someone want's it totally standard.

Paul Knobs (Sutton) just sorted out a misfire issue I had, the rest of the bike is all original except the exhaust.

Oh, at least she's running nice now! I'm based in Norfolk and my GSX1400 is having issues. C28 and I cant for the life of me work it out.
