Lol the “widow maker” ZX-10R crashing at the track is fitting to how crazy that bike was. Smaller wheelbase than the ZX6R of the same year with way more power and no rider aids. Thing was crazy. What a great era for sport bikes.

I got a UK motorcycle magazine back in 2005 when I was in 6th grade with the release of the new GSX-R as the cover and main article with that exact black and yellow collor scheme and never thought all these years later I'd get to own the legendary godzilla.

5:02 Year 2008 I believe, I had just bought a copy of Alan Dowds' book "Superbikes" (which I enjoyed overall), when I decided to post a message on Alan's website, and this was a time when social networks were not quite around yet! I had to complain about the poor translation into my native language, Spanish, which ruined the awesome package the book really was IMO. To my surprise, only a couple of days later, I got a reply from Mr. Dowd's himself apologizing about the poor translation job, which he said was given to this agency in Spain, and saying he was glad I was enjoying the book. I have to say this guys... I felt so much closer to the wonderful world of motorcycles. Cheers from Mexico City!

Haha looks like they had fun...I've owned or ridden all except the F1 and for road riding I can't understate how much I disagree with the results here.. OK F1, I've never ridden one so skip that, then CBR1000 last, I've ridden a number of 04 to 06's... its tame, easy, no excitement, the R1 second last, I owned this model, well, an 06 and the 2000, its fast if you rev it..its got very low torque.. and subsequently noticibly no engine braking where the 10s engine will throw you forward when you come off the throttle... its stunning to look at but uncomfortable as all hell, arse in the air and your hands grabbing the front axle, you can't look around due to committed position and its turning circle its crazy wide, 3 point turn, where the zx10r can do it in one turn full lock and feet up..I've done it and tried both. The r1 is a race bike and more suited to the track where you live in the top end, not the road. I'd tie the 10 and the GSXR1000 in first as ideal road bikes.... both have stonking engines, both are comfy with the 10 being a bit more comfy, Zook is typically shorter in the leg typically ape like zook ergos from the 80's and 90's I've owned 3 gen 1 zx10r and ridden loads of k5/6, at 1.9m tall its slightly too small for me, k7 fits better, but id have one and maybe will do so in the future.

Hi, guys who own GSXR1000 k5/k6. Do you all have your bike's frame reinforced? Did you hear or see the broken or cracked frame of this bike ever?

Sarunas Survila there's people on the k5/k6 forums that have 80/100k + miles on their bikes without the brace and have never had any cracks or problems even after being tracked and slid. That being said the recall was announced in 2009 and has no deadline you can call any suzuki dealer with your vin to see if its been done along with the front master cylinder recall, if it hasnt been done yet you can schedule an appointment and have the brace put on free of charge though i have heard it can take a while for the brace parts to come in and for the glue to dry but atleast you dont have to pay for anything.

Got a recall brace fitted but it was all good. Have my k6 from new never sell her 8k miles fully sorted love it

There is a certain range of serial numbers the recall applies to.

I had no issues with my k6 I even hit a deer broadside hard at 55 mph and the bike was fine besides the cosmetic damage. After my flight and slide I picked up the bike started it and went home.
