Great vid, one of the few on youtube of a top speed 600 run with good pov perspective of the road and the speed in mph. You should try a gps verification sometime, would be interesting to see actual speed. The majority of sportbike speedometers read high.

Yeah dude that shit is scary fast. I haven't topped out my 600. Too scary. One thing goes wrong could end in a broken neck and your a goner. Yesterday on my way to work I seen an mc accident aftermath and when I got to work I asked the e.r if they had the guy and said he was dead before he even got through the doors here. He was on a cruiser type bike.

Don’t really get your point ?, I’ve been riding sport bikes for nearly 40 years and I recalled when in 1984/1985 we were all excited by the Ninja 900 who was the one of the first bike to hit 150 mph, and that now 600cc sport bikes beat that easily , so I don’t see a GSX-R 600 that did 155 mph would fooled me ??

Unless this is corrected speed with a speedo healer its high. Mine is a 2014 with ecu flash and speedo healer. Horsepower to wheel is 124 top speed is 169. Rule of thumb is about 10% so 100mph your actually doing 90. 174 your doing 156.6. Get a gps app on your phone and compare. Or flash your ecu and get a speedo healer you can feel a major difference. Still plenty fast. Great video though. Smooth riding!

There aren't any 600's doing 170+ actual... Most are lucky to hit an actual 160mph, if that... Your speedo is likely off by 8-10%... The wind resistance at those speeds is the limiting factor. Even if you raised the gearing to hit higher speeds, on a 600, the higher you gear it the lower the top speed actually becomes...

Yeah they have something that costs $100 an you can put it on and it ensures your speedometer is 100% correct. I just saw it the other day when looking at accessories.

@@bigpimpen045 Yeah. Healtech makes a Speedohealer for that, but there may be other companies making them now. The GSX-R600 is also typically the slowest of the 600's... I topped my 2020 ZX6R KRT Edition yesterday... ECU flash, K&N air filter, decat and Hotbodies MGP slipon... Topped out at an indicated 157mph. Stock gearing. Maybe on a longer straight I could get a tad more, but I doubt it would break 160. It makes about 10hp more than most GSX-R600's... mine being the "cheater" 636 motor...

@@Slixxxxrr The only 600's you have seen breaking 170 actual, are in MotoAmerica, with supersport builds on those motors, race ECU and harness, full exhaust and lots of work. Those will crack an honest 170... But street 600's that don't have all that work... full exhaust, full tune after polishing the ports and thinner head gasket and other tweaks... Not gonna happen. Most speedo's are off at least 5% from the factory, and depending on the bike and the gearing, could be off by 10% or more... You noobs... lol
