This is my first bike and its been 1 year since I've bought it. I have yet to out grow the speed on it and still wouldn't say I use it to the fullest. Its been great, 7k miles, one close scare that made me learn a lot but besides that I stay within my limits. It's definitely fitting for a first bike as long as you have proper self control. thoughts in 2024: I'll say, maybe not the most 'fitting' first bike for everyone. very dangerous especially for inexperienced. (300-400cc range would be fitting, and easily tradeable when upgrading) but I still love mine to this day and am happy I chose to start on the 600, it taught me a lot.

1 year of riding, lol...of course you can't use it to its fullest. You aren't even close. Professional riders can ride these bikes to a fault. 100% of normal people cannot. Unless you have spent every week at the track for the last 15 years, you are nowhere near riding the bike to its potential.
@jakejake7162 Жыл бұрын
Ive owned both 600cc range all the way up to Ducati 1299s and can say with confidence no one needs a 1000cc engine. It’s literally boring riding a bike you can only use 2-3 gears because they’re so tall. Plus the top speed is barely different between the two classes, along with acceleration. I’d say gsxr 750 at the most but even then, 99% of the people who buy these will never ever come close to being able to use the bikes full potential. Hope you have many safe miles and just do your best to not let the excitement of speed get you into any trouble(both with the law and health wise)

I love the acceleration clip at 4:43. I love how the sound of the engine. I love the subtle gear whine which becomes audible at high RPM, and I love how it increases in pitch after upshifting. Wow, I sound like a silly child right now. I have to get myself one of these.
@hectichive8892 жыл бұрын
Dude, I’ve been noticing that gear whine too the more I watch clips of gsxrs. I could be wrong, but I don’t feel I’ve heard them on other 600s. Is there a reason for this? As far as I know, all motorcycles pretty much already have straight-cut gearboxes I’m pretty sure, but you don’t hear them whine much anyways even given that. I will say my Indian Scout has a very significant gear whine, even at idle, but that’s because they have a gear driven primary drive. I’m absolutely in love with the gsxrs and planning on adding one to the garage, was just curious. I think it sounds pretty cool!

I admit being slightly more than a novice rider having had some bumps and bruises even before owning a full motorcycle (Syms scooters, to me, are the worst!!) But with the info you and other channel hosts have provided up til now, riding is considerably easier, as well as the choices between the types of bikes and their uses. I say keep up the excellent work and one day in the not-so-distant future, I'll be able to purchase a machine from your store and maybe even take a trip up your way. Take care!!

I have a similar Kawasaki 600cc inline 4. Very low power from idle to 5,000 rpm, where you spent most time on the street. At 13,000 rpm it really wakes up- where it is used on a race track. It will feel faster with a smaller front sprocket and/or bigger back sprocket, but will vibrate more at 75 mph. If you are young the insurance is high, and the very powerful front brakes to stop it at 150 mph can get a beginner in trouble fast. The R6 is often considered best on a track, and the 636 best on the street for this style. They are best at 70 mph or above because your chest acts like a sail to lift your weight off the seat.

Just as agile and in some ways more usable. I would probably recommend the SV 650 for a first bike over the Gsxr 600 but if you are not worried about the power then definitely. Meanwhile the 600+ i4s can be sold with alot of miles well over what they're worth. Not saying you have to sell it. It's just easier get rid of a bigger sport bike rather than a smaller sport bike.

Mine 2006 GSX-R does exactly same 130 kph on first gear. 600 engine really did not change a lot last 20 years, cause no matter how much hoursepower do you get from engine, if it's limited with the torque of its capacity class, you will not go any faster. What has really evolved is a frame stiffness and weight, suspension and electronics. But not the engine peak power. It is already in very unusable range.

I used to ride dirt bikes a little when I was younger and I’ve been on some really fast jet skis I can drive a stick do you think I’m prepared well enough for a starter 600 bike?

I personally thing k6-k7 r the most beautiful gsxr !!! What do u guys think ? I'm surprised also that a k6-k7 Goes up to 16,000 rpm while the rest of the gsxr 600 models only go to 15k !! I think 1k rpm can be a big difference!!!

It's not about the bike, it's about the rider. And there it is :) ...level up!

Hey SRK, had a quick question. I've been asking around and watching reviews on 600's (I plan on bumping up from a 2017 ninja 300abs) but not sure what I should get or look at.(dont have a tone of money and not really into the 1000cc bikes yet, I do like the street bike feel.) I kinda want a Honda 600rr... but idk it has a pretty steady power delivery? And I thought about the 636... but that and the R6 is kinda all medium-top end power. Plus they as are taller bikes I'm only 5'8. I like the torquey bikes there isnt that many straight aways to do 150+ on. (In the city.) I'm just trying to get some ideas on this. Let me know what u think, if u have the time. Thank you.

n0xxm3rcyxx I see they never answered you. You said you are a smaller guy. I think smaller guys look much better on the street racing machines you mentioned in your comment and us huge guys much better on a cruiser. There is that whole other world type bike Versys by Kawasaki you might look at. Has the 650 Ninja engine and same engine as my Vulcan 650 S. So 3 of Kaw’s bikes use this proven, bullet proof parallel twin engine it’s just electronically controlled different for each bike. 11 months since your comment. What did you end up doing? Happy Summertime from Chicago land.
