And it wasn't because I was laughing at you, but because I've been in those situations where you want to do something, but something in your head tells you not to. Then you commit to doing it, and the second after you start, you're kicking yourself in the ass the whole time, screaming and cursing because curiosity got the best of you. Definitely one of the funniest videos I've seen in a long time!

Agreed! I'm sure a few of us have "been there, done that" in varied forms. For me, it was taking an unknown mountain track in Slovenia on a Tmax in search of a pretty view of the valley below. Once started on the track it was clear that it was a bad idea. Cracked asphalt turned to gravel, which turned to a rutty dirt path mixed with gravel and sand. Too narrow to turn around, and no clear indication where it actually led. When I ended up on a hiking trail that was heading toward a ledge several thousand feet above the valley I finally summoned the strength to turn that bike around. It was either that, or risk cliff diving. I avoid those off road tracks these days. Until now I was almost certain I was the only nut who tried stuff like that. Thanks for the reassurance that I'm not alone.

I find people don't really understand the Thumbs up or down buttons. They might be giving the thumbs up for all the wrong reasons, and same for the down. For example someone might like a product so they give the video a Thumbs Up, someone else might hate the product and give it a Thumbs Down when the product is not what you as a viewer are reviewing as a rating. You as a viewer are suppose to be rating the VIDEO. Was it informative? Did it help you? Was it well produced? I don't see an issue with the VIDEO here. It's a little long, but not crazy long. I assume the 331 Thumbs Down are for tossing a sportbike on the ground...LOL Again not what the rating system was meant for you to rate. I wish negatives they required input like "I didn't like this video because it was too long" Or the village idiot would say "I didn't like the video because your momma is fat"...and then let you flag those stupid negatives to be removed. I pay little attention to them myself, as I know people have a hard time grasping the concept of the rating system...but then again I'm sure a lot of people are the stars of the Russian driving videos so what do you expect!!!

About 6 years ago, before I had ever even touched a motorcycle, I saw a particular one (either a harley softail or a honda rebel, I couldn't tell the diff at the time) on the road and was hooked, obsessed with obtaining my own bike. A few months later, after becoming aware that there are different types, categories, genres of motorcycles, I became really curious as to how possible it was to take something like a sports bike off-road. I quickly came across this video, which had not been up for long, posted by some British dude with a cool name (I did not yet know that the Brits were much more into bikes than us Americans). I was enthralled by the video and the genuine adventurous spirit that was animated in this video. In a way, this video portrays the adventurous spirit of motorcycling more than any legit off road video. Anyway, I spent the next year watching everything that The Baron put up, simultaneously failing all of my college classes because NOTHING mattered anymore except motorcycles. I spent all the time I should have been spending on studying and homework by scavenging the web for information on bikes in general. How they work, how it is to ride them, how to perform maintenance on them generally, the pitfalls of the various types, and the reputations of each brand. I became as informed as I possible could without ever having touched a bike. Throughout all this I started out wanting a Harley Blackline, because it most closely (or obviously?) resembled the bike that had given me the itch on that fateful day. I then got a chance to sit on one and realized it was not only ungodly expensive, but ENORMOUS and effectively unrideable for someone of my size and experience level. Around this time, the Ninja 300 and CBR250 came out, and I spent considerable time looking at them both, thinking that one of these might be the bike for me. They were both so good, how could they not be? But then I watched a video from Jake the Garden Snake and from his advice, garnered that sport bikes, even in their smaller CC forms, are still fairly specialized and thus restricted, and somehow from there I ended up looking at the also recently released Suzuki TU250 X, affectionately called the "TUX." I also looked at the Savage 650 by proxy, but son dropped the idea after sitting on one. The TUX was THE ONE. It was the bike for me. It was set in STONE. It was cheap, looked ok, fun enough to ride supposedly, and a good jack of all trades. My GF and I took our MSF course, and got our licenses, and I started saving up the cash for a new TUX. And then, one lonely night while looking around on craigslist just entertaining the idea of getting a used bike, I came across a particular bike I had seen outside of an office months before getting my license, but had written off because it was even smaller than the TUX and from some lesser known Taiwanese brand, SYM, whoever that is... It looked so cool still though... Almost a year went by, and I had moved out and had some dough in my pocket. Not enough for a TUX, but enough to lock myself into a downpayment maybe... And then, in another lonely, procrastinating search on Craigslist, I stumbled across the same SYM Wolf. I felt something for it that I couldn't deny. I called up the seller just to chat, and found out that it was actually THE very bike I had seen in person outside of an office forever ago. I felt a connection. The TUX was a great bike, but it could wait. I met up with the lady that owned this awesome little SYM Wolf 150, and we called it a deal. A week later I had a helmet and I took my first venture ever out onto the road on a motorcycle. After a few laps up and down my road, I ended up venturing further and further from home. Four hours later, I was 50 some-odd miles from home, on a bad ass FM road that I previously didn't know existed, looking out from a bridge over a river, smiling with pure joy that I had literally achieved my dream. For the first time in my life, I had achieved a dream, no if's and's or but's. Fast forward 4 years, and I still have that SYM Wolf, plus a 30 year old Honda 450 twin, an even older project bike, and I'm saving up for a 4th bike - this time something more dual sporty. I've gone on several giant trips on each of my 2 main bikes, and motorcycling has consumed every aspect of my life, every fiber of my being. Bikes fucking rule, and if you say otherwise... then hey man, to each his own. Something reminded me of this video recently, and I realized that it now represents a very, very early milestone in what has now become a lifestyle for me, and maybe it's the margarita talking, but I just felt like sharing. Peace brothas and sistas.

This video reminds me of when I took my Ninja 250 off roading. Got it all on video, but it was a hell of an experience. Nowhere near as much mud where I was riding, but lots and lots of loose gravel and dirt. I did eventually get to a stunning part of the island that I have never seen before. And at 6:15 when you mentioned that alone feeling, I was on the most remote road I had ever been on, I know the feels. Only saw one other person on my way out.

Dropped it twice, almost snapped my ankle once (had the wrong boots), but when i was back home, i was so hooked!
