Real life shadows actually dont look sharp as a knife especially under sunlight, but if artificial light and its close to the object, then it would appear very sharp

For me the most realistic looking shadows in the game are Medium and High or something in between

if you're PC is Low end pc, Those are the best settings for you,: Video Mode: 1280x720 Aspect Ratio: Whatever you like Texture Quality: Low Reflection Resolution: OFF Water Quality: Low Shadow Quality: Low or OFF Night Shadows: OFF Texture Filter Quality: Tri-Linear View Distance: 5% Detail Distance: 5% Vehicle Density: 5% Definition: ON VSync: OFF Hope this improves your FPS and that the game looks Good.

Yep, but I found something very odd. For some reason on low end pc if you put Texture Quality to high instead of low it actually runs better with higher fps. I dont know why this happens but I see this as an absolute win

Also texture filter quality doesn't affect performance at all, so you can set it to 16x without losing any FPS

Which version of the game did you use and where did you buy it? There are some settings that don't appear to me such as road reflections and shadow particle. Sorry for my English.

My game is bought on physical copy and I used the latest version. Road reflections are just a different aspect of the Reflection Resolution option. And about the shadow particles - after patch 1.0.8.0 they were changed. This video is 6 years old and i dont remember why i decided to not use the original settings names, but i now regret it

That's not Windows 8's fault. That's because you have a low-end computer with low-end components. It would be the same case if you had Windows 10 or Windows 11.

ultra shadows are too sharp. better keep it high and gain fps so that we can get 'sort of' soft shadows and make game look more realistic.

It is Vehicle density option but it also affects population density, so I renamed it, maybe it was a bad idea

So the best graphical settings for a smooth fps: Texture quality :high Reflections quality :high Shadows qualty: high Water quality: medium Anisotropical filtering :16x Distance scaling:50% Render distance : 50% Cars dinstey : 50% There not a big difference between high and very high and meduim water quality look more real And 100% cars dinsety makes driving much harder Render and distance scaling screw up your frame rate so much and it is not that differente between 50 and 100

sadly this game deemed "unoptimized" by it's so called "fan" yet they didn't realize the texture are very detailed for time sake and let's not forget the real time (exaggerated) car physics and every object have it's shadow/ reflection also this game also have advanced real time shadows for all thing and real time reflection which is crazy even the ps3 visibly drops frame when i get 2 stars now see the repeated word? it's all rendered in real time which bogs the game why no one ever noticing this and just bitching ohh bad ported game my expansive gtx660 still has (now double dare ya try with new rtx now that's stable 60 fps!!)

@@folev_333heheh i was a fan of this gta iv since 2012 still waiting to buy laptop at least capable to ran this 60fps high @900p (yes I'm portable guy because i need balanced to work/play) forgot to mentioned the infamous crysis also have crazy frame drop when you go bezerk on graphics/res setting when it just released and still to this day... dunno why it doesn't get bad light like gta iv does.. damage control maybe?

It's just unacceptable that 13 after launch I'm struggling to get a balance between graphics and fps. Either all low for a 60(monitor's max) or 7fps for all high... On a freaking i5 With a 2gb 920mx... Feck

@@makavelithedon6656 920mx?!?! Cool gpu but Sorry that one are in gpu generation can't handle it at 60fps although it's decent for Fps and moba though. But keep your eye on budget laptop called tuf gaming with the 1650 you can have stable 58fps high at 2k resolution! (overclock gpu just slightly with msi afterburner)
