Funny how GTA4 was shit on by the community back then because it didnt have a huge map and many different vehicles like San Andreas.. I was in love with this game. Every gun fight, chase scene felt real and full of tension, the missions were mostly down to earth too, the physics mechanics of the game was never seen in a GTA game before and after. The city was truly alive and interesting to explore. I would even risk to say that it is my favorite GTA game, although i played a shitton of hours with both SA and V.

The cars were good and the map was big enough, but there was not so much new in the map compared SA or Vice City stories where you could have a crime empire. It felt kinda like the map in Mafia 2, where it is a big nice looking site, but barely anything to do there. Except mundane things like bowling, comedy clubs and shooting pigeons. Of course you can make your own fun and for that IV is great and online was fun back in the day. It went from fun and wacky in the earlier games to a more dark, serious and story-focused game. I think a lot of people didn't like trading gameplay for story, simple as that. GTA IV is still a good game.

The tolerance that the NPCs have to being shot is actually quite realistic. There's plenty of cases of people taking many rounds, such as a whole magazine of 9mm, and continuing on for a while without dropping. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug, and unless someone is hit in the heart or central nervous system, if they're spiking with the stuff they're probably going to just eat it; they won't feel the shock, and blood loss takes a while to take hold.

I still think this quote is the most haunting yet profound of any that a GTA character has said, especially given the implication that Niko more likely than not did this and is very haunted by it: “But don’t you worry about your soul?” “(Sigh) After you walk into a village and you see 50 children lined up neatly in a row against a church wall, each with their throats cut and their hands chopped off, you realize that the creature that could do this doesn’t have a soul…”

@kqlys78452 жыл бұрын
never even thought about this line this way and i don't think it was meant to be interpreted this way, i think the implication was that what he saw made him believe that humans in general don't have a soul (which sounded more like a figure of speech you would normally use during a not imporant, unexpected small-talk, not a statement on what he believes in or doesn't; he was basically trying to evade a question he didn't expect with a short story from his life). he wouldn't start with "after you walk into a village and see [...]", it literally means that he saw something but was there after it already happened and he didn't participate in it, there is zero evidence in this sentence that he's claiming to have done these things
@tonybippitykaye2 жыл бұрын
@@kqlys7845 Idk, he talks previously about doing bad things and then thinking nothing of doing bad things, such as killing, smuggling, and selling people, then mentions that. But okay, let’s say he didn’t. Why would he respond like that about his own soul? If he didn’t do it per se, maybe he was part of the group that did do it, he saw the aftermath of what his comrades or even business partners did and is guilty by association. I’m not saying definitively that he did it, I’m saying MAYBE he did. We’re never given a clear cut answer, only clues based on what he does reveal about his past (he was a veteran of the Yugoslavian war, which was known for horrific human atrocities). I think it’s left intentionally ambiguous. Plus it’s just a powerful line.
@lonelydriver61542 жыл бұрын
when he says "you realize the creature that could do this doesnt have a soul" i always thought he meant humans in general. like he saw and did so many atrocious things during his time as a soldier that his experiences completely eliminated any spiritual beliefs he may have had. and he sees every human, including himself, as an animal capable of the most depraved acts

I just love this game. Yes, it's probably because of nostalgia, as it is the first GTA game I had, but somehow the whole story really grabbed my attention. I'm really obsessed with the 2000s and this game perfectly conveys the feel in my opinion. There's simply something in the game that gave me such a strong emotional connection to it that I cannot even describe it. I just love it, but it's like a sad kind of love, or idk, it's really hard to explain it. For some reason I feel like I'm so intertwined with certain characters in the game, even tho they are fictional (I tend to do this a lot for some reason, when a book or maybe a movie, in this case, a game, has a good story that really grabs me I really get sad that the characters aren't real and stuff) so yea maybe it is because of my weirdness, but this game will always have a special place in my heart.

Idk, 4's car physics make some missions quite a chore, through at least the npcs in races are just as bad as you are, racing end up being much easier than regular drives because the npcs just crash in their first curve lol

12:18: Based on how you played this mission, you do not understand how to play GTA 4 at all. You wait for the lawyer to get up while he continues talking. You pull up your revolver and aim at him, which triggers some optional dialogue. He backs upto the window, which is when you shoot him. Then you jump out the window to your car waiting outside. Most of the people playing GTA 4 post 5, don’t realize how accessible the world here really is, and the different ways you can complete every mission. Fun fact: this lawyer is based on the real life lawyer who has tried to sue Rockstar multiple times in the past. All of his lines in this mission is stuff the real guy has used himself.

There are multiple ways to complete that mission and the correct one is the one that you, personally, have the most fun doing. So you need to stop dictating how people should play videogames because that's a pathetic thing to do.

You may be unable to "yeet" the bowling ball, because your surface isn't even enough. If the game senses that your mouse is moving irratically, it won't work. And for the game to think that the movement is irradical, there only needs to be like a bread crumb on your desk.
