I thought it was my state at first but It was Illinois. In 2019, Pennsylvania, another government official tried to push for violent video games tax which was an additional 10% tax ontop or the states state tax . So any violent game would have had a total tax of 16%. It fell through. Probably most likely because violent content exists on multiple platforms such as live radio, books, movies, live tv amd so on.

If it did get banned I wouldn't be surprised if R* just lets it happen. What better way to bring a new game out without shitting all over the people the grinded the dogshit out of GTAV for years. I feel this reason alone is what is holding up any kind of future installment. R* stated back in the day that GTA Online is it's own beast. How do they allow us to continue our characters in a new game, we would be overloaded with funds breaking the game from the beginning. This would be a way to reset the entire community without it being their fault.

Just played GTA 5 for the first time today, I only made in 2 and a half mins in and it made me steal my neighbours car, so I went to my nearest bank and pistol whip the bank teller in the head and I managed to get about 6k behind the till.
