Okay so slight explanation for why the trailer tier list didn't perform as well. You're a speed runner, and you've played this game for over 11000 hours. When it comes to missions and lore and fun facts, you know a lot about them. So watching a mission tier list from you is more fun. Also because people have their own favourite missions and missions they didn't like. A tier list is just a good way for them to compare their own opinions with you. However, I don't think the same level of mental engagement exists for a tier list of trailers. I saw that video pop up in my notifications, I moved on. Cuz I wasn't around for gta 5's release, it's been 10 years, and the trailers have little to no impact or make a difference. And it wouldn't matter to me if you ranked a trailer lower or higher. It would matter to me if you ranked a particular mission higher or lower because like I said, people like to compare their own thoughts with yours cuz you are more experienced and knowledgeable.

I differ in that for me I didn't see the trailers and stuff before so watched that as a way to see the trailers and Mattos opinion too, he also points out the differences between them and the game which there were quite a few of plus unlike others I do have enough time to watch longer videos too but sometimes I delay them which would contribute to a lower initial engagement of the video

I think I would basically give Matto the exact same advice he gave to the GTA-movie guy in this video: It's not a good idea. It's not the algorithm being mean, it's not me being mean 😅. It's a 10 year old game. People who are interested in GTAV trailers have seen the trailers to death. So what can you add to make them interesting to watch? And that should be communicated in the Thumbnail and title. Why should someone who already knows the trailers click on the video? Just because of your opinion? That's a bit lacking, don't you think? And then people like me who aren't interested in trailers in general, especially in trailers for a game I already played. Why should I click on the video? I don't have nostalgia for the trailers because I only became interested in the game long after it came out. I've never watched the trailers. Would watching the trailers now give me more insight into the game or give me interesting informations? I don't think so. Would your opinion about the trailers make them more interesting? Probably, but not interesting enough to click on the video. So I didn't click on the video. Maybe it's a great video, but the premise of the video just doesn't work IMHO.

@@Jehty21 while watching the video it might not have been super obvious I suppose but he did mention somewhere (in and/or outside the video I can't remember) that he wanted to rewatch all gta 5 trailers to see the differences and seeing what insight this could give for gta 6 and the trailers for it including how far apart the trailers may get from each other etc However, I suppose you wouldn't necessarily need an hour long video for it and could have done an overview of what to expect and that video might have been good as a rambles style video instead maybe but I personally enjoyed the video as it was

I think it makes sense that videos with fewer views have higher retention because if your video does not pop off in the algorithm, the only people who will see it are people who subscribe or actively look for your videos. Those people are also much more likely to watch it all the way through.

Honestly it has picked up a bit and is at 200k after 2 weeks. I think normally tier lists are valued not because of how many views they get, but more due to the lesser relative effort they take to make compared to other content. That video just ended up being a pain to make for a variety of reasons, and obviously it doesnt actually make money, making its lower views not great. If you have a good idea for a tier list I say go for it, usually the strength of the idea is key.

I don't know if you've heard about this, but there was recently a documentary about these people that tried to recreate Hamlet in Grand Theft Auto 5. It seems like exactly the kind of project that's using the same tools as the GTA Movie project, but is the antithesis of it, in terms of originality and scope. The documentary is called Grand Theft Hamlet, and it isn't out yet; it just premiered at SXSW, but it seems like it might be up your alley.

I think having the GTA related topics on this channel is a very good idea from the perspective of the rambles format. This one already got a lot more views that most videos on the rambles story... another story is probably seeing how the rambles videos do in relation to the other videos on the main channel. Even if the GTA rambles do better that they would have ever done over on the Viper Rambles channel, it may still be a format that is "algorithmically weaker" than the rest of the videos on the main channel. Ultimately I think having exclusive GTA rambles on this channel holds the potential to become the most successful iteration of the rambles format yet.

This is just speculation on my part because, again, there isn't much concrete in game evidence, but the special abilities could be explained by Trevor's years of drug and alcohol abuse(not just things like meth there is literally a gasoline huffing minigame infront of his house) not to the mention gang violence and murderous rampages giving him the ability to feel no pain for some time. Michael's is a bit more long winded but there is some evidence to suggest that rdr might be in the same universe as the HD gta games and this leads to the huge leap: Michael lives pretty close to a few gun ranges and also owns at least one gun by the time of complications as well as gained a pretty heavy addiction to cigarettes (deadeye fuel) maybe his time at the range combined with a nasty addiction to cigarettes gave him deadeye (this only works if the first cigarette he smokes is at his funeral but even then you could say that watching his own casket sink into the ground is why he started smoking)
