this is certanlly due to the old 2000's Pc's and Ps2 hardware, but the the drawn distance is 2000 in gta vc, vut just for lods also, not defined objects, in sa seabed dat limited the poor 800 limit into 300-400 especially in Ps2 and Xbox, in pc it got i bit bigger. but you can easyly nod this on PC to be 2000 with dobling the emory usage from 32mb to 64mb or 138mb, on ps2 do this, the game i will pop up from falt of memory, in Xbox i never did it, but i think that should work also.

Everything is possible on PC. Find a limit about the playable area defined in a DLL somewhere - replace the bytes with your own limit. Easier said than done but that's in principle how it works. Technically you could do the same with Ps2 but there's only so much you can do with 32 MB of RAM. Rockstar optimized the hell of San Andreas to fit the map into Ps2 so the GTA 3 engine from 2001 certainly would not work in this case.

its nearly the same engine... just an updated version of renderware... the problem there is not the engine itself, is the way rockstar games made gta San Andreas..., they needed to limit even drawn distance due to ps2 lack of memory, that and others things like less time to make the game made it looked rushed compared to GTA III and VC, althought GTA SA being an bigger game... VC and GTA III seens to be a better polished games overall, if rockstar took at aleast more 1 or years they could polished more and realise it in Xbox 360 and PS3 at first place..., yeah i know, San Andreas was a good game, i even play it to this days, but rockstar could made more back in the day... i they did, it doesnt need alot of "fix" mods for it like we have today.

Why is everyone hating SA's Engine and Lightning? GTA 3 is the worst GTA game ever, the Map is so cold and dark. Completed GTA 3 twice on PS2 and PS4 but SA is waaay better - best game ever made. GTA SA's engine is imo better than GTA 3,4,5 and the Colors are beautiful, the entire map feels like HOME. Even if you like GTA 3 the game itself, you can't say that the colors are better than SA. GTA 3 and LCS are dark as hell. CJ feels even more realistic as Claude or Tommy.
