This is why I love GTA IV. It's GTA... but it is diffrent from other GTA games. Niko actually has a moral system and he regrets some of his actions.

I've always said that Niko is wasted on the GTA series. Don't get me wrong I love GTA but Niko would work better in a more serious game like some kind of Spec Ops The Line type game. It's hard to focus on the deeper parts of Niko's story when a Cock-O-Puffs billboard is in the background of him talking about child murder.

I really appreciate how in the HD era, Rockstar has these moments where the protagonists of their games will help someone or do some good, and not do it for money, but just because they want to do good

I like Niko because of that. I'd argue that he's the best written character in all of GTA. And this is also part of the reason why I play as Michael in GTA 5. In some ways he's very similar to Niko and does good deeds that don't benefit him.

I did Illyana's random encounter one time, fought the guy and he ran away, then Ilyana never called me after that. That must be a glitch almost nobody talks about.
