@@milesromanus7041 I totally agree with you I played whole IV story whole game is dark etc but it’s more grounded and realistic while III looks more like dark and creepy comic book and there are so many things that make this game even creepier like the fact that we play as Claude who can talk but chooses not to, he’s completely alone having only guns and weapons in a gloomy raining city that was literally called ”Worst place in America” (and it’s canon) full of crime, murders, spank, rivers where no one can swim, blown bridges, he doesn’t even intended to be here longer, he just wanted to rob bank with his girlfriend that betrayed him and he almost went to prison, compared to Niko who went of the boat and met his cousin after long time no see, every gang wants to kill him, atleast at the end of the game, he got no family and home, only some „friends” that are from business and there’s nothing you can do in this city (except murdering and grand theft auto;D) no one even interacts with him and says anything, maybe no one even see him…

GTA 5 a had a good story. However GTA 4's story was down to earth, not only did it project the character Niko as a broken individual who ranaway from his problems, while also treating it like it was also anti war as well. Hearing Nikos past makes you learn about the evils of human nature. Makes you feel like the character is struggling as you play through, trying to move to America to run away from past, only to eventually find him. GTA 4 wasnt about bowling, action scenes, and vulgar material. Its a tale, no matter what happened in the past you cant hide from you did or done. You could only face it. Running wont solve it. Running would make you careless, making you feel free, if you repeat your mistakes then you are back where you were. Those mistakes became consequences for Niko. Yes GTA 5 has a awesome story, it was mostly just dramatic Hollywood story of how three dudes who took against rich men and the federal government.(which was badass). Thats why i always viewed as a underrated game.

i kinda agree, I like them both, they're pretty flawed on their own ways but good nonetheless. I think imo GTA games never were intended to have "Perfect" stories, more like "good" stories that heavily depended on funny/likeable characters, which alot of their games VC, SA IV and V have quite excelled on. GTA IV went on a very radical approach in terms of narrative considering most fans have been quite used to the over-the-top and goofy missions and writing. i think thats many considering GTA IV as a flop, as it was less succesful than San Andreas. It falls short on alot of stuff other than the story, after all, its not a book. Pretty terribly optimizied and just not much left to do after you finish the story, It almost felt like GTA 3 when it came to spending money on things other than guns.
