The suspected gunman who killed two, including a Toronto police officer, and injured three others, had a lengthy criminal history, according to parole records obtained by Global News.
Sources and documents obtained by Global News have confirmed that the spelling and age of the man suspected of killing Const. Andrew Hong who was shot on his lunch break, is in fact Sean Petrie, 40.
Catherine McDonald has dug into the man's history and court records and reports on what she has learned, including the suspect's connection to an auto-body shop that was the scene of one of the shootings.

@zedmercury2605 2 жыл бұрын
@@TracyLeaOgden Well, we "all" carry guns to an extent. With a lot of these mass shootings, it seems not a lot of people actually have firearms on their person to react to the shooter. The few times they did, they actually shot the mass shooter before police arrived. A lot of guns are sold, but people having a gun on them is rare since you straight up can't bring them into most public places. That's also why schools are such a big target, people don't typically have guns on campus, not even locked up for emergency situations. It's a situation of people that have guns bringing them into places where they know there won't be any.
@zedmercury2605
@zedmercury2605 2 жыл бұрын
@@TracyLeaOgden I just wanted to point out that we're not all carrying guns on us at all times like some people think. Atleast you guys have an idea about how to solve your issue (I think), we're too busy over here argueing over it to actually do anything conclusive. The main problem is that guns are an integral part of our history and founding, a symbol of what we can trust our citizens with, letting the average Joe protect their property from criminals and government alike, yaddah yaddah yaddah patriotic speel. Plus, while gun violence has always been a thing, mass shootings on this scale are unique to the 21st century. So I don't personally think it's the gun issue over here, more of a mental issue.
@zedmercury2605
@zedmercury2605 2 жыл бұрын
@@TracyLeaOgden Don't trust our government? I mean, yeah, country was founded by people who fought back a tyrannical government. It's a deeply rooted thing to not trust the government. Thats why states have so much power. Founders didn't want a big tyrannical government controlling everything so they gave some powers to the states to decide what they wanted to do. Makes it to where your mileage living in America heavily depends on the state you live in, gun violence included. And again, shootings on this scale are unprecedented. People's access to guns stays the same, yet violence increases, doesn't seem like an entirely gun based issue no?
