This is so freaking cool. Been looking to upgrade my wife's 2016 Honda Fit. And though this kit won't work, knowing that there are kits that retain the lane watch and rear view camera makes me happy beyond belief. Please update when more model-specific Car kits are added.

10:00 CAUTION HERE!!!!!! It is possible running the wire this way will interfere with the side airbag deployment. I know this from installing my own dash cam and made sure I ran the wires up and over the wire loom and airbag.

Hi!, two questions, this can work in Civic Euro versions? i Have a Type R.. is not same audio for US model. (not have amp for example, only 8 speakers, no cameras in the rear view mirrors). and the second question and most important!: All Car Settings? still works?? is a lot of settings... Rev marchs, configuration for opens door , keyless config, light config...etc, etc,etc!

I have a 2017 CRV Touring model, did you have a special adapter to get any type of noise to come out to the speakers? It's the only thing I'm missing. Hi, I've recently installed a new android unit to my 2016 Honda Civic 1.8S (FC662GE) with 360-camera. Facing 2 problems : (1) FM radio reception much weaker than before. Did you face same issue? Does my Civic model have built-in antenna amplifier? If yes, will an antenna booster (12V) installed between head unit and car antenna wiring, drawing power from either ignition/cigarette socket help power the antenna amplifier? If no, what are options to fix FM reception? (2) weak microphone. During phone calls, other party barely can hear my voice. Searched online, common solution is to open up head unit and modify electronics which void warranty. Another is install external mic but possibly won't work due to mic on head unit operating in parallel at same time. Is your external microphone working with clear voice quality?

Do you always have to click the app on the device to use Android auto? It won't connect automatically? Hi, you would have to use the XM app from Playstore. The original XM gets disabled as its built in to original radio.

I have both auxiliary cords for the right and rear view cameras in the right spots. But only the rear Cam works and not the Right side one. I double checked my connections but it seems the female part of the aux is not working! Kinda ticked as I use the right Cam a lot

Probably will work with that. It seems set up to work with any Civic in this generation. The navigation will be lost but in its place you can use wifi tethering for native app use on the device or Android auto through an app and dongle.

I reached out to them in January, and it permanently discontinued. You can buy this from Phoenix or Dasaita. I had the Dasaita one and my motherboard went out on 38th day of use. Do not recommend this garbage. @iGiiMik

Why wouldn't it? They use the same infotainment since 2016. Just to be sure I'd measure the size of the old screen (as shown in this video) and compare it with the newer one with the volume knob (some newer civic got one, not sure which ones though) and if they are the same size (again the should be the same, since nothing has changed) it will fit and since the software is the very same it will also work.

What's the difference between the factory head unit and the Android CarPlay installed in a 2016-2018 Honda Civic EX Sedan? I think that the factory head unit already has all the bells and whistles. I'm already happy with the factory unit because it already has everything on it such as apple car play and all the other cool features plus I added Honda Hack to the unit so that I can watch Netflix movies on the nice 7 inch screen. I have no plans to upgrade the factory head unit. By the way, I own a 2017 Honda Civic EX Sedan.

The difference is in the power output to high end after market speakers. The factory unit just doesn't cut it. 🤷‍♂️

geodarkknight27 Oh I see! Speaking aftermarket speakers, I upgraded all the speakers including all the tweeters to some Kicker CS Series components. A nice upgrade sound improvement from the factory components speakers, which didn't sound that great.

Kirk... keep in mind tho that if you do like the factory unit like I do, you can get an adapter for better wattage output for after market speakers and subs as well. Which is exactly what I'm going to be doing.
