What did you print in SLA Resin exactly? Do you know if i can print the light guards in Resin white or should i go with MJH black?
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 3 ай бұрын
I printed both the front covers in the imagine black resin. I presume you can do it in white resin but it is internal and white would be better. Cheaper FDM would be recommended as they are just internal light guides.
@stefangang8630
@stefangang8630 3 ай бұрын
FDM is below min size at jlpcb so i only have the option to do the light guards in mjh black or i choose resin 6060 or resin 9000 in white. What would you choose? It is my first PE DIY wheel and hence a lot of questions. I also have everything that is carbon in alluminium (except the clutch paddles, going with regular mjh there). Or do you think carbon is the better choice or even mjh prints (at the end there is only so little to see in carbon from the front plate)?

@stefangang8630 if you are in the states I can send you some guides. My sponsor Matt at SimulationRUs sent me a few extra I can send you. They are just internal and are white for the LED’s. I will be building another GTB PRO and if it’s cheap you can get from JLCPCB. Just don’t spend anything crazy. The cheapest resin in white is okay. As for the carbon, just depends, if you are doing paddles and shifters vs without. If you aren’t doing shifters and paddles than MJF will look nice and Resin will look nicer. So it’s really an option on your part. If you are on discord, I’d be more than happy to chat there. Much easier to walk you through it all.

Thanks man. Appreciate the support and glad you save some 💰💰💰 on the Pro wheel. It truly is an amazing wheel. Let me know what you think. I do have the plans for a few PE wheels I am considering but I’d want rubber grips and those are 3D printed. If they had rubber, I’d be sold.

I bet. You have JLCPCB right in your backyard. That is cool. I bet shipping is much quicker. Although they ship via DHL and I usually get really quick.

Hey buddy, how is going... I just heard in one video you mentioning that testing the flex of the wheels by pushing it side to side, up and down, was something for people that is not right in the head, like making fun of them... I just feel that rigidity of the wheel means sharpness in the ffb, the same that rigidity in our rigs, just wanted to say I have experience the difference between different wheels, and the feeling of the FFB and personally for me is something that is important, maybe is not for you but I feel everyone is entitle to have their own opinion, cheers buddy
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics Ай бұрын
Howdy man… You are correct, stiffness of the wheel is key and as someone who has had over 20-25 wheels at this point, both DIY and pre-made, the bend tests I feel is a little overblown. I do want a stiff wheel and I believe we all do, however, when I see some of the tests people do, it makes me laugh. Similar to those who spend the extra on a 30nm wheelbase but never go past 15. We as sim racers spend so much money, or expect so much, but if we get into our own automobiles, there is flex everywhere. Honestly, it is mainly me poking fun at the bend it in a way that will never be applied in the sim. As long as grips are molded onto a 5mm alu or CF plate, your likely never to see any flex. When it is a separate piece, than some level of flex may be inherent. But I totally agree with you in premise, a solid wheel, with good rigidity is key for any rig, especially as the NM’s increase. Cheers mate

@@grayzedynamics 😊🙏👍😊, Thank you buddy for your kind words and understanding. I personally can feel the difference between alu/carbon front plate + plastic/3d printing body (slightly softer ffb feeling specially at high torque) Vs alu/carbon front plate + aluminium/carbon body (sharper and more consistent ffb feeling from low to high torque) . I would call it subtle differences and FFB feeling, not a day and night difference if you know what I mean. It is always nice to see you buddy😁.

@0rtizjjay most welcome mate. Always love to hear viewpoints from others. I will say a 3D printed with carbon front is the lightest ever. So much so that the feedback feels more pronounced. My aluminum wheels dampen the feedback a bit, but as you said all about personal preference. On a 8nm wheelbase that weight can make the difference. The GSI hyper P1 is amazing but really heavy, so on an 8nm base it would dampen too. So many things to consider.

Will the OMP Kubics wheel fit?
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics Ай бұрын
It looks like the wheel would fit, but I am not 100% sure. It will fit a 330mm wheel rim, the curvature at the top of the wheel may be a bit too tight for the top of the GTB Pro. I would recommend a larger round rim or an open top rim for the GTB Pro. They do have some compatibility on the site.

@@grayzedynamicsHi Ray, sorry for the delayed response! I really like the format, it feels less like a talking head video but more like a product centered review. If I would change sth, then here are my personal opinions: - the music could be a bit better 😅. It feels a bit generic. - When you want to demonstrate how sth sounds like the shifters at 3:42, then turn of the music completely. The beats of the music interfere with the experience of the shifter sound - When you show the live action with the wheel in the quality section (from 3:57), I would highly recommend to mount the camera decoupled from the rig. There are vibrations on the camera when FFB kicks in. Otherwise you do great stuff and you inspire people to dive into the DIY hobby. Please keep it up and stay as you are. ❤

Thabks for the feedback. I will take that all into consideration. I can do these pretty easy. Yeah I can't do anything with music unless I am wanting to use copywrited music. I think for many of the shots I may also consider using my iPhone since it has a 4K camera and better quality. Since I am doing voice over. Will put thses into the next video. Thx man.

Hello ! Great video ! THANKS ! I have a question: How did you connect the PCB to the QR? I would love to do that too! :)
@grayzedynamics
@grayzedynamics 3 ай бұрын
Thanks man. Appreciate it. Check out Dan Suzuki’s page. He has created a QR PCB for NRG, which makes it essentially “wireless” because the power cord is connected to the base side with a power cord and the wheel no longer has to be plugged in. I did a short video talking about the benefits, and all you’d have to do is become a member on Dans page.
