Hi there, wow what a great video, this was extremely helpful & very interesting, i was searching on Amazon & there's so many styles of glue guns, i was a bit overwhelmed to say the least. I did happen to see this Sure-bond glue gun & i liked it right away, because i want something to plug into the wall also having the charging stand, so the cord won't get in my way while i'm working, so this sounds like exactly what i've been looking for, i will click onto your link for this to buy it & i hope Sure-bonder happened to see your fantastic tutorial because you deserve a bonus from this company & a lot more than the 30 cents you may get from Amazon, so thanks a bunch, this was a great 23 minutes i spent here,. The only thing that i wish you would have done, is to show the Surebond glue sticks, i'd like to know how well they will stand up in the strength, but for now i will purchase the gorilla sticks.

The little “wings” on the side are to angel the gun towards the tip to keep the glue from flowing out the back of the gun which would render it useless. The only thing I wish this had is dual temp so it could be put on low for gluing foam and high for other materials.

Thanks for the review! I've been looking for a new glue gun and I'm thoroughly convinced this is the one I'm gonna pick up! And at a decent price too! Merry Christmas!

I have the Surebonder Plus dual temp DT270F. I am almost ready to get rid of it. It does not work well at either temperature. The tip loses heat so quickly that the glue can clog at the nozzle while being hot at the heating element. Finally, it jammed when the feed glue stick started melting while the tip was too cool.

Thank you for the detailed review. I almost not want to get this surebonder glue gun coz of another review which was not as detailed as yours. I think I will get this one. Thanks again:)

So I'm guessing that you have found a glue gun to replace your older one by now. But... I gotta add my two cents in. For what it's worth anyway. I just found the Gorilla Glue hot glue gun. I needed one in a pinch and picked up the mini at Walmart. Like you mentioned with the minis you fly through the sticks( but I found a solution for that issue at a craft store recently). The Gorilla Glue gun has a low high inset switch which I love. Being able to switch back and forth for different types of material prevents the melting of foam or more heat-sensitive fabrics. Now it does not have a precision/detail tip but it does have a decent length cord at 5 feet. Gorilla Glue does have a full size. And you are on point with using their glue sticks. I have been crafting since crafting was just a life skill that we learned just because. Or to spend some downtime with grandparents or parents and I have not found another glue stick that matches the quality of bond and smoothness that Gorilla gives us. Thanks for your videos.

Nice review. The only reservation I have with cordless tools is they always seem to lose their ability to recharge after a short while. It will be interesting to see how long this one lasts in that regard.

Fair point. I will certainly try and keep an eye on it. Remind me in 6 months and I'll do the test again and see how it fairs.

I’m on my second one, second one sent from the company. Same problem; it stops working within weeks! It does drip glue no big deal just putting it out there. I found this video while looking for tips on somehow repairing this same model. Wonderful America made product but the design of this product needs works.
@TheTabletopEngineer5 жыл бұрын
Tonya Renee that’s not good. I’m still using the same one from the video and it still holds a charge for more than 3 minutes. I’m sorry you’re having issues.
@death2all79zx6 жыл бұрын
So it's almost a year later, what do you think of this glue gun now? How does it hold its charge.
@TheTabletopEngineer5 жыл бұрын
Yep... still works great. I've not noticed a decline in its ability to sit on the desk (unplugged) and be used 3-4 times before re-cradling.
@rol93444 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t really hold a charge as it doesn’t have batteries. Rather it keeps the glue hot.
@ibrawring95254 жыл бұрын
2 years later - still working well? Thanks.

I got this gun, wish I could return it. The low temp on this gun is the same as the high temp on my old gun and the High temp could set fire to what I normally use. Plus the nosel is shorter and a lot less accurate in terms of aiming and the much higher temp makes it come out in massive globs very hot and dangerous puddles
@TheTabletopEngineer5 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear you had issues with it. In my case, this gun gets HOT. REAL hot. If it sits on the charger for a few minutes, that's all I need. I wonder if you got a defective one? I'm still enjoying the cordless ability, and I haven't noticed a drop in quality of the charge. My habit is to drop it back in the cradle every 3-4 uses anyway, so it stays hot.
@TheRealSparkplugTheFox5 жыл бұрын
@@TheTabletopEngineer yeah I think this is a gun just doesnt suit the purposes for which I had orgininally bought it for. I'll have to get another gun of the brand I previously used

DOWNFALL IS THIS GUN DRIPS LIKE CRAZY ..
@TheTabletopEngineer4 жыл бұрын
Mine only drips when I leave it on the stand for long periods of time. If I'm using it, it doesn't seem to have that issue. I think continually using glue keeps the glue from getting overheated.
@sandyrichardson2094 жыл бұрын
I just purchased one and having the same issue! It's not dripping but there is a stream of glue when I'm not using it;(

Thanks for this. I "lent" my friend my professional DUAL heated ( I think sears) glue gun. 2 years later I still have not gotten it back. I need to get another one & he can keep mine. He uses it for car parts as he is a mechanic. Do you have a different one that has a higher temp level? This seems like a good compromise.

I bought one because I wanted a cordless glue gun. I have used mine a couple of times. Today I have tried to use mine and it has been sitting for more than 5 minutes but no glue is coming out. So aggravated. I know the red light means it is on. Does it ever turn green to let you know it is ready?

I thought about buying one when I saw it on amazon but after looking into it a bit more and finding out that it isn't really cordless I decided to buy a traditional corded glue gun. An actual cordless glue gun has an internal rechargeable battery which this one doesn't have. Still useful if you use a hot glue gun a lot at a dedicated work bench.
@duke83893 жыл бұрын
Is it an actual heating element, not a battery, that stays hot for about 4-5 minutes?

Hello, I have read many comment about it starting to drip a lot after some use. Could you verify that? Thak you :)
@myaccount53625 жыл бұрын
Bianca Esteves I can verify that along with the fact that I am on my second gun...same one...the company sent the sent me the second one. The glue stick gums up in the gun and you can even squeeze the trigger. The same thing happened with the first gun. This gun gets extremely hot! A drip fell to my finger and I had a nasty blister and painful burn! I don’t recommend this particular model!

Same here. I got it for Christmas and this is the 1st time I've tried to use it. I'm literally watching this video right now because I wanted to see if there was something I was doing wrong. Perhaps it's the size of the gluesticks that I'm using, but it's not producing any glue. However, it's jamming up with glue on the other end so I don't know what the heck is wrong with this thing. Overall I am not pleased with it. I would much prefer to use my little rinky dinky one that I've had for several years that works just fine. Not impressed with this one at all. I'm glad that it was a gift and that I didn't spend my money on it. I will try the larger glue sticks to see if that makes a difference.

do you have to wait 5 min and then squeeze the trigger to get the glue to come out?
@taranagnew4364 жыл бұрын
i waited 5 min and squeezed the trigger and nothing is coming out, plz help
@TheTabletopEngineer4 жыл бұрын
It takes about 2-3 minutes for the hot glue to heat up and melt and then a pull of the trigger makes it come out. If you're waiting 5 min and nothing is happening, you may want to return it. Sounds broken.

Glue guns can affect the bond. You have to make sure the glue is heated at the right temperature for the best bond. Glue sticks do have different strength based on the formulation. China made glue sticks are made with less tackifiers so the bond is not that good. For best results use Surebonder Brand, making glue sticks in Wauconda, Illinois.
@mikekamins19825 жыл бұрын
There is no batteries in this glue gun.
@TheTabletopEngineer5 жыл бұрын
Well, it does keep the glue hot for a while, so it just have a decent heat sink for the electricity to heat up and melt the glue.
