Honestly MatPat leaving GTLive hits me harder than when he left the Game Theory channel, it was sad when Steph left and now Mat's gone too. Ever since I started watching back 4 years ago, I've loved watching these longer videos with Mat where he can just talk on and on about all he knows without it following a short script. I have so many favorite GTLive game series that I've watched over the years, and I'm going to make sure to revisit and remember them throughout my life. I can't even count anymore how many of my childhood favorite creators left or had their lives destroyed / ended themselves. Wow, to think of it like that... my first GT episode was the Companion Cube one (or maybe Pyro) back in 2013. I was even there for the first stream! I was a junior in high school! So strange to think it's only been 11 years, I was certain it was much longer. These channels have been a part of my life through every major time in my adult life, through high school, college, working a few years and now the military! I've been putting this video off, because i was just not ready yet, and man.. i haveb't cried this hard in a long time. Matpats and the channels have been such a big part of my life from traumatizing me with horrorgames in middleschool, connecting with my first Boyfriend because of the FNAf videos and then finally the GTLive videos keeping me company back in 2022 when i moved out into my first apartment for College. i Can still remember sitting all by myself at my table, eating dinner and watching you guys for comfort when i was transitioning into this new and scary period in my life. Mat and Steph were my childhood. I’ve watched every GTLive video and series. It was sad when Stephenie had to go but at least Mat would still be there. I wasn’t ready for him to announce his retirement, him and this channel were keeping me happy. Watching him laugh and joke with his friends and co-workers made my day. And now it’s finally over. He’s given me 15 wonderful years of his life and I truly believe that he deserves to now spend his time with his family. Not feeling the stress of the algorithm or uploading videos. I love Matpat so much, it’s sad to see him go but my sadness is outweighed by the joy I have by knowing he finally gets to enjoy a peaceful life with his son Ollie and beautiful wife Stephenie. Took me over a day to gather up the courage to come back here after the emotional rollercoaster of the stream ended. I just wanted to thank you for everything you ever gave me. I've been watching you for nine years, almost half my life and you were always there to make my day better, always there to teach me something new. When I first watched Matpat, I was 12 and in middle school. That first video was Fnaf 2’s theory where Matpat theorized that the purple guy was the phone guy. And now I’m almost 24 and well into adulthood. I’ve been here for all of it and though it’s somehow been over a decade of game theory, it flew by so quick and doesn’t feel long enough with one of my favorite KZbinrs. That being said, I sincerely hope Matpat enjoys this well earned retirement with his family. Thank you for everything, Matpat and farewell. There are high yield ETFs from YieldMax, Defiance, and Roundhill that pay a lot and pay weekly, and being registered Securities, are not a scam. I'm also a fan of peer to peer lending through platforms like Prosper and Kiva (the latter requiring a cash back credit card to make money since loans are interest free). If you do the ETF route, and do Margin, I recommend using Robinhood and keeping 16% of the portfolio as TBIL since they are stable.

I remember when I first found the channel, when I watched you and Steph play the first Kindergarten, bendy and the ink machine, hello neighbor. I remember learning about how spiders can swing around because they have an open circulatory system. I was 12 when I first watched your videos, I am 21 now. I have grown up watching you, I’ve learned from you. Thank you for everything you have done. Matpat & Steph have been the biggest inspirations of my life. I've reached for opportunities because of him, even going so far as to become an RA thanks to him. The impact these two had not just on me but a generation is one of a kind. That right there is the true indication of success, when without even say anything about them you are aware of their impact across the platform and across any vertical. We can still feel his impact through the memes, the laughs, and the theories and that's what makes him remarkable. You had and will continue to have fantastic careers Matt & Steph, and now Ash gets to carry on that legacy!
