So my guess for Ash’s novel is that it’s similar to the book “the things they carried”. There’s no chapters, just different stories of someone’s lifetime. Someone is either remembering or telling 3 memories that have meaning behind them, fictional stories that have real life criticism. But that’s just a theory, a novel theory! Thanks for listening

@@EraidFreefire I think one problem is that they forget, between games, that the Fears to Fathom series relies on that slow build-up - that they use subtle events in the midst of everyday life to build up the player's tension, something that's pretty unique in horror games. The player has to actually pay attention to their surroundings, and not be distracted - but the GT(not)Live format is quite a bit about distraction, with the interplay between two to three people every time. While the interplay is certainly funny, we've seen more than once how it makes MatPat miss the subtleties. (Or, in this case, the not-so-subtle *giant* *freakin'* *shadow* on the wall. *snerk*)

As someone who lives in the Pacific Northwest, I have a surprising amount of context for this game. Now I’m not sure, and this is kind of all based on if Roseburg was a made up name or not, but my guess is that this guy was a ranger in Umpqua or Rogue River Siskiyou national forest, which then about two hours to the north passing through Roseburg on I-5 he might be headed to Willamette or Siuslaw national forest. A theory about the varying teeth cleaning results also might have to do with if you have crowded teeth or more spaced out teeth and if they are crooked or straight. For example, I have crowded teeth, and some are crooked and overlap. Normally, most of my teeth dont have lingering ick except for the teeth that are different, and even then, I sometimes have to take a pick to them to get everything.

I love this trio together and how much they banter and joke around! I want to see more of them together. That being said, this game has more subtle horror elements to it that are meant to build anticipation and fear, which were unfortunately missed. The whistling that signifies the killer is lurking nearby, the killer being at the abandoned campsite just a few feet away from the player, the killer being behind the shed at one point (rustling, footsteps and whistling), the whispering around your tower door while you slept, along with other things that I won't mention because this isn't their final playthrough. The theory I've gone along with after watching a playthrough was that the other park rangers (possibly including your partner in the other tower, Connor) are part of a cult that abducts and sacrifices some park visitors, you, and possibly the previous park ranger whom you took over from (the Gritty Woman, which holds different implications other than that she was a tough and strong spirited lady) + some other details that, again, I won't mention.

Quick aside about the camera settings: ISO 100 is an option on every camera I've ever used, even in the $200 range. And ISO 100 with 1/250 shutter speed still lets in a good amount of light, especially outside with the sun out. Obviously it depends on the sensor sensitivity but those camera settings are fairly realistic.

So I definitely know they aren't the outdoors type. Bear spray is super concentrated pepper spray. Like it will blind you and burn your face levels of pepper spray. It's definitely not an air freshener. Not unless you like not breathing.. anyway love you guys hope this teaches something.
