Apparently, a lot of national parks LOVE to cover up things, so If word got out that there's a killer cult in their national park, It would hurt their business because nobody would ever want to go there, It could be the reason why everyone was gaslighting you into thinking that nothing is wrong and that It's all just a prank being done to you. Obviously the people that's been working there longer than you would have some Idea or completely know what's happening, so I find it hard to believe that Connor or Mitch wouldn't know about it, especially since Mitch told you not to go near the Lacey Trail Sector because of "bobcats and bears" but It's actually because that's where the cultists are active... This is also probably the reason they don't want or try not to get police involved because If they did find out that there are cultists living in the national park a news story would definitely come out impacting their business, still If this is real, It's insanely irresponsible for any of the workers to just Ignore it, unless they are all in on it and or have some kind of agreement with them... then It would make sense why they aren't doing anything about it.

It makes no sense to keep it hidden. Killer cultists are the only reason I go to national parks anymore! What's not to love?! Why, I went camping a few months ago and at night they kept beating on the tent and screaming. Let me tell you, it was the most authentic, woodsy experience ever. 5 stars, would recommend. (just don't go out of the tent, follow the sound of someone screaming for help or make s'mores. I learned the hard way that cultists love s'mores)

So I like this idea even more given the time idea that this one is meant to take place. Even if say Connor was kept in the dark as it was out of his area, and mainly all happen around tower 11. Mitch for sure knew, and old towers being tapped lest at that point in time was a thing where they would use the lines to know what was happening. Some things add up even you can write it off as Conner just being lazy and not wanting to deal with anything but a real fire. makes you wonder if his computer has games and was even lying about not getting them.

I don't think Connor was aware, but even if he was, I don't think others were "in on it". They were keeping their mouth shut to avoid getting in danger like the newbie was. I think it was less a matter of being in cahoots and more a matter of, you don't bother us and we won't bother you. You keep eyes out of the north, and we won't bring our business into the South. But I don't think Connor was aware of the cultists or he wouldn't have suggested the picture for authorities.

Killer Frequency is HUGE recommend. It's a really interesting take of a survivor horror, where YOU , the character, have to guide and save everyone in the town along with solving the mystery of the killer. Plenty of lore and puzzles for Mat to enjoy

You should play the game Killer Frequency. You play as a radio host and have to help people calling in to escape a killer on the loose. It's kinda similar to Do you copy?, but a bit longer and more exploration. It's very fun!

He definitely is. Some playthroughs I've seen have a body on the ground next to the pyre. I think the only option that changes anything in the hiker part is if you ask for a description of his clothing (which matches the body on the ground.) If you don't ask for his appearance, I don't think the body shows up (though I'm not 100% sure that's what causes the body to spawn.)

I don't think connor was in on it, but what I do think though is that mitch and connor might have known about the cult but chose to just turn a blind eye to it just so that they don't get hurt. Which is why connor kept dismissing the players encounter that as just some pranksters, but I don't know I could be entirely wrong.

You're correct. Some playthroughs I've seen have had a body spawn on the ground next to the pyre that matches the description the guy gives of himself. I'm not 100% sure what causes it to spawn, but I think it's the option for a description. If you don't ask him what he looks like, it doesn't show the body (I think.)

Most of the time I enjoy the way matpat plays games whether it be fnaf or a random roblox game. I'm not exactly sure why but the way he's played this chapter of fears to fathom, both parts, has been infuriating. It might just be that I played it first so I knew what he was supposed to do, but I dont remember having that much trouble with any parts of this chapter. I get that this is gonna sound like a "no offense" type thing, but I do still appreciate the content tho. Keep doin what you're doin guys.
