R/C Car Action did an article on it way back in the late 80s. He was also the driver and had his picture taken with Eastwood.

LMAO dude. DUDE.... DUDE!! Ever since I saw some of the (then SUPER expensive) nitro trucks as a kid I wanted to get one and hit the interstate with it on a road trip or something. I never thought anyone would actually do it! it's so awesome someone actually fulfilled my childhood dream of trolling the crap out of drivers with a souped up RC truck! xD Just getting into the RC world again as an adult and woah have there been some changes since the late '90s and early 2000s in terms of control, durability, and upgradability. I'm piece by broken piece upgrading a 1/10 scale 4x4 buggy mainly used for my cattle dog's herding instinct. It's a blast!

I did this about 25 years ago except it was with a nitro truck. Back then batteries didn't last long enough to do it with an electric RC. I had a Traxxas Nitro Hawk with an OS CZ .12 engine. It ran right at 45 mph with the stock gearing. We'd jump out at stop signs/lights to put fuel in it. I later had a Losi GTX with an OS in it as well. It ran out of gas and it happened so fast that we ran over the left side of the truck. Luckily only the wheels got hit and the rest of the truck was fine. That was some of the best times I had with RC cars!

This was a great video, I love that you finally did it. I bit of advice as a hobby head myself. Adjust the steering trim beforehand so you can really lay in on the speed for the highway. It is pulling to the right. Also, you may want to adjust the toe out as well because of the speed. I use to race them back in the day. Keep up the work and enjoy. I have subscribed.
