Building the trans in a GTR is a must if you’re modding it. That seems to be the weak point of the car. I hear good things about AMS transmission builds but damn they can get up there depending on what you want. Their turbo upgrade kit for $10k looks solid though.

@@RiZenAsH if I was ever blessed to be able to afford a GTR I would keep it stock. The factory transmission has very low parasitic loss 5% to 17% depending on RPM. That's very low drivetrain loss for a dual clutch. For context, the Porsche GT3 has over 22% loss. but you're correct anything over 700 horsepower in the GTR will crack the transmission case using launch control.

@@johns818 yup. And it cheaper just to go ahead and spend the 12-15k building the transmission to support to added power than it is to have to replace the whole thing. I think Nissan wants around $20k plus labor. You could probably find a rebuilt one cheaper but not by much.

Who's we? The car does all the work. It's literally AWD, and has a DCT. GTR is a computer on wheels, meant solely to achieve best lap times. I respect it for what it is, but the C7 is the only real street car in the lineup, and either this guy was late or he forgot to downshift. The Vette will keep up in short spurts.

When you have a turbo you gonna have a problem,1st turbo is only alive and useful because there’s oil in it.

I rock a 97 accord and i got my dream car too. Cant measure how much we love our cars.... Or else we'd start losing wifes and girlfriends. ;) took me 23 yrs to get mine... Wife took alot less time lol.
