Lived in Flake city 56 years. Im glad youtube does not have a limit on how long videos stay online. Love watching blasts from the past.

This video is evidence of why Battle Creek Yd was awesome in the early 90s! Nice view from opposite of the west tower - we always watched from the parking lot of the tower. The CR/UP power looked like maybe BCEL preparing to depart?
@bobozo389Ай бұрын
Yes! That was BC-EL, ready to head towards Kalamazoo and on to Elkhart. I sure miss those days, such a action packed place at night!

Thanks Balerio, I know the night scenes at the yard are hard to see, but the sound is good! And it is busy. Bob

I really miss the Grand Trunk Western! My father was an engineer for the GT in Chicago for many years, it was a very sad time when they closed the Elsdon Yard back in the 80's. Long live the good track road!

Oh, for sure, they were my favorite RR back in the 80's and 90's

@@bobozo389 I would like to see GT steam vids. Sure do appreciate these video posts.
@bobozo3894 жыл бұрын
@@marvin33421 I wished I could have filmed GT steam, I did not get my 1st VHS camera until 1991 and all the steam was gone by the time I started rail fanning in the mid 1970's.

Shame CP has done away with the GT paint scheme. I hate what Class I railroading has become.
@bobozo3893 жыл бұрын
You mean CN? They still have a few engines in the GTW paint scheme, even a new heritage unit. I miss the Grand Trunk as well.
@tommyhunter18173 жыл бұрын
@@bobozo389 yeah, CN. Either one, plus UP has FUBAR railfanning.
