Seems to be doing a better job than the Whirlpool family of washers. A bit more water would have helped, tub did not fill as high as I thought it might with this very heavy load.

My grandparents had the adora version of this machine same tub washplate, only thing diff, is tub size, it lasted them about 8 years before the lid latch finally failed and at around the 6 year mark, it started to make a horrendus grinding noise, but i kinda thought it was cool, since it didnt really hurt the machine, since they are my grandparents instead of fixing it, since GE has discontinued these models a long time ago, the parts arent avalible anymore, now all the make are the noisy belt driven machines like the 680 and 750 some are DD motors, butt they arent made by fisher and paykel anymore.

Kirk, I'm in the market for a top loader that is like the ones from 20 years ago. I'm leaning toward the speed queen but the agitator seems to be lethargic. Can you recommend a model or two that really do a super job at getting laundry clean??

Only in this extreme demonstration it seems lethargic. I have yet to find a top load washer that will effectively wash this load. This washer is the only one that is a blast from the past and soon to be gone in 2018 due to tougher regulations. You can can definitely buy this one with confidence.

Kirk Rivas I'm talking about a regular shirt load. Not this particular machine. My old kenmore would toss the clothes around something crazy and get them nice and clean. So you're saying none of the new machine can wash well? What model do u know that washes super well and doesn't take 3 hrs to wash like a front loader?

Kirk, I would love to see a one or two Delivery blanket load for the GTW330ASKWW washer. I have a feeling that it might succeed!!! I've had my unit for a few months now and let me tell you, the center agitator is POWERFUL! Might be one of the few machines that can actually MOVE the shipping blanket during the wash and possibly even get some turnover action. The GTW460ASJWW or GTW485ASJWS might also do well because of the corkscrew-style dual-action agitator Also in future delivery blanket videos, it might be a good idea to put some dirt or easy-to-remove stains on the blanket to show a before and after of how well it washed. Might also be a good idea to start doing this on your jean or t-shirt washes too, as many consumers such as myself want to see how WELL it cleans, not just how it looks when cleaning (case and point: top-load vs front-load). From watching your videos and reading comments, a lot of viewers don't think front-loaders wash well because the clothes only tumble and it doesn't look like there is enough water. They don't know that clothes are washed both by passing water through the fabric and from the fabric rubbing against other fabrics. A top-loader works using the first method, a front loader works using the 2nd method. Both clean very well, and in many cases front-loaders clean even better than top loaders (as long as they are not overfilled!!!). Just some feedback to make your awesome videos even more amazing! I think that you might like to view Kirk's demonstrations of the Maytag MVWC565FW. There are some similar offerings from GE and Hotpoint but the Maytag is more has a more reliable repair record. It's a mix between an agitator and he machine. It does use less water but it washes for over 20 minutes as apposed to 14 min and it has more than ample rollover over the course of its cycle. It functions differently than a traditional top loader and like this machine it scrubs the clothes as a mechanical washboard would but since it has a center post as a traditional agitator would, it balances and manages the load better than this does. Maytag also makes a 4.7 center post he but it didn't appear to circulate as vigorously as the 4.2 machine
