I'd be really interested to hear your suggestions for a Finish, I'm inclined towards an oil again, what do you think?

Hailing from Scotland I'm a Single Malt Scotch man myself but l won't hold bourbon against you 🥴😁. This looks an excellent project and I look forward to the final viewing.

That's going to be excellent when its finished, I hope your bourbon will appreciate it for as long as its in there, I take it that you only have to whittle the through dovetails not the half blind
@GTWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
Hi Allan, indeed the halfblind are whittle free. I think the Bourbon will only stop in there briefly.....🤣

Those are some BIG panels. I noticed you used two clamps on the right angle sled. Did you do anything special to secure them? That has always been a bit of a problem for me and a flaw in the design in my opinion.
@GTWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
HI Jim, no, just the two clamps are they were soooo big. I was really concerned that the far end would catch and drag them away from the fence, but it held them with no issues at all.

You didn’t have to do anything special for those large panels? The right angle guide really held them? I’m pleasantly surprised

As am I, as well as delighted, to say I was nervous was a huge understatement. Thanks for watching. 😊

In the manual it says, regarding setting the depth of cut, that once you have the depth of cut set, you should plane your stock down to the height of the router bit. In the three videos of yours that I have watched, I never hear or see you make reference to that. Why is that if you don't mind me asking.
@GTWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
Hi Befmx, with through Dovetails you're stock must be thicknessed to the height of you're bit after you set depth of cut, with halfblind Dovetails you don't need to do that. Just set depth of cut and away you go.
@befmx314 жыл бұрын
Well, I may have to take back my question of a second ago. @12:40 you say you have "thicknessed" all of your panels. Is that the part that I mentioned regarding what the manual says? You thicknessed your stock to the height of the bit?
@GTWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
Hi Befmx, no, you're thinking of Through Dovetails
@jhelminski4 жыл бұрын
Have you used the Incra Center Template to center the bit?
@GTWoodshop4 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the device they no longer sell? I saw one mentioned once in a video that I mean to try and replicate. Looks like a dream come true.
@jhelminski4 жыл бұрын
@@GTWoodshop No Incra actually has a template that you slide your fence to "zero," move the template to the diameter of the bit on the rear end of the template, move the fence until it read the width of the work stock on the template, then slide your dovetail, box, etc template to the suggested or preferred center. Works great! Mine came with the LS templates, you may have one.

@@jhelminski OK, thanks for the info Jim, I'll have a look. Be typical to find something right under my nose after all these years. 🤣

It would be a sin to put them nice looking bottles into a cabinet they would look much nicer in a glass

How about some in a glass, and a little left in the bottle???
