Just bought one today for $225 to replace my very old and tired r9 280x. It's the best card I could find at a "reasonable" price. Got people selling 480s around here for $500... But the 1060 seems pretty good so far and should keep me going until new gpus become readily available again (assuming that ever happens)

Been using my 1060 6gb since 2017, it's literally perfect for everything when you stay within 1080p. I recently got a Ryzen 5 5600x and every game I play runs in triple-digit fps. 👌🏻

the 1060 6gb and 580 8gb were such good cards that unfortunately neither amd nor nvidia has bothered to truly replace them. the 1660 non super and 5500xt are pretty much the same performance at less power use at a higher price. On the bright side, we are just about to the point where this level of performance will be possible from a slot powered card. That day will be huge for PC gaming. 1000s of old i7 fitted HPs and Dells will suddenly become far more capable of being turned into a gaming machine with very low effort or skills needed.

Yeah I have a system with msi h61m-p31/w8 and a xeon e3-1235. Check the cpu support list for that specific mobo. The xeons in sandy and I think ivy bridge with a 5 on the end, have on chip gpu.
