I have a question, you use DSR to play in 4k or above in your 1440p monitor, so if I use dsr on for eg 1080p monitor and set it to 1440p or 4k will it really show that improvement in sharpness

It'll show some improvement (sometimes it'll actually be blurrier though), but not anywhere close to native resolution. Native res looks waaay better :)

@@zWORMzGaming hmm I am quite bottlenecked by my 1080p 165hz monitor with my 3080, I have a 4k TV but it's not always free as well so I just max out the anti aliasing as well as the whole settings but still gpu isnt maxed out. I'm waiting for that 3060Ti pc so that I can transfer this monitor there and get a 1440p or 4k one. They are quite expensive, the 1440p monitors literally start from 350$

Native is better, it will be better with dsr but it will not be to much, if you asked me, best option for that is resolution scaling, setting at 200 percent instead of 4k dsr it will be better, ofc if that option is available in game

Around 60 fps sounds about right for the 1080 Ti (I used to have a Founder’s Edition GPU that got around 60 at 4k Ultra settings when I played this back around the game’s launch, though I got a lot of GPU VRAM errors).

Kryzzp, I'm sure you're already aware of this because you do this a lot, but explosions actually don't have much of an impact on even mid-range GPUs anymore. Alpha Transparency is far better optimized than it used to be, and the increased cuda cores means the rendering of them is far smoother. At most you'll lose like 10FPS in the worst examples of it, where the game isn't horribly optimized (unfortunately this game is one of those)

Your video got me curious because I too have a 1080TI and i want to upgrade my monitor. I currently play with a 24 inch 240hz monitor @ 1080p and been using 24inches for 10+ years now. My CPU is a 1950x 16cores @3.8GHZ and 1080 TI GPU. Im super competitive to play games like Valorant, Apex, Overwatch primarily (recently super people), would you go with A. 27inch 240hz 1440p B. 32inch 144hz 4k C. 34inch 180hz ULTRA WIDE (probly not ideal for competitive gaming but curious) D. Other choice? Any help is appreciated.

hey @zWORMz what stats overlay do you use? is it msi afterburner with riva tuner? I have an EVGA FTW3 GTX 1080TI and when I use MSI Afterburner the middle GPU Fan stops spinnning. Do you have any suggestions for a good fps-counter+gpu/cpu_stats for my card which will actually work? thanks

Yes it is :) Seems like the middle GPU fan is faulty, it should start spinning if you manually set the fan speed to another value, I had that happen with my GTX 1080 a while ago, ended up replacing the fan for a few bucks on eBay. You could try FPS Monitor, it's pretty good but it's paid

@@zWORMzGaming I have ordered 3 original fans for my GPU and replaced them a while ago but it did not help. Just to mention all the 3 fans are working perfectly with Evga Precision X1 without any problem. I figured out on EVGA Forum that this happens to be a known incompatibility issue when you combine EVGA FTW3 and MSI Afterburner Software. I have also tried to run EVGA Precision X1 simultaneously with MSI Afterburner and it was unfortunately not a good idea. That's why I asked you perhaps you were using something else rather than MSI Afterburner. Anyway I have just found a program called "FPS Monitor" and I am going to try it out. Thanks for help

hola!!! necesito tu ayuda. tengo una pc de primer generación de Ryzen con una ASUS PRIME B350 PLUS entonces soporta hasta la serie 3000 de procesadores. poseo un Ryzen 3600 pero vi el 3700X a muy buen precio. me ofrecieron una buena suma de dinero por mi ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 107O OC 8G y quiero una 1080Ti. mi pregunta es, ¿es suficiente la 1080 con el Ryzen 3600 o 3700X?, para PUBG competitivo, con los Esport settings oficiales de Nvidia para PUBG. resulta que vi la 1080 a un precio que sí podría costear pues solo tengo que entregar una pequeña diferencia monetaria para adquirirla. de antemano muchas gracias y sigue así!! porque tu trabajo es impecable y muy profesional :3 al hacer las pruebas y dar la información demasiado detallada. un abrazo. -1tzelG. pd: cuando reduces la resolución, la carga se va al procesador, pero, subiendo un poco los settings gráficos (lo justo y necesarios) se van a la GPU, entonces con eso se compensa, y se balancea la carga entre CPU/GPU. lo ideal es reducir al 90% la escala de resolución porque en 720p se vería muy chiquito y un póco más borroso que reduciendo la escala al 90%. lo he probado de muchas maneras y la verdad es que sirve ayudando muchísimo y funciona muy bien. el ejemplo al revés sería aumentar la escala al máximo (en PUBG 120%) y reducir la calidad visual al mínimo para que se valla al CPU y con la escala al máximo darle carga de trabajo a la GPU. ;)
