The White General was so fearsome in battle that swaths of Shu troops were cut down before him. It was only when untimely rains flooded and isolated his camps was he surrounded and captured by endless numbers of Shu soldiers. Historically, Guan Yu never even dared to approach Pang De in personal combat.

Can Long That is unlikely, since he was surronded, had only his eldest son, Zhou Cang, and a few loyal men, as the rest either died or deserted, due to Lu Meng holding their families hostage. actually not, if only liu feng send inforcement to make Guan Yu escape route. He probably would escape. Guan Yu already send massanger ask reinforcement. because, shu main army is located far away in the west. he try to reach liu feng Liu Bei adopted son, and liu feng ignore it, because personal matter. this event was Zhuge Liang first miscalculation. he thought wu never brave enought to attack jing as long Guan Yu guard it. and he admit it, that he postpone to long for returning jing.

He was a stubborn man, he didn't want to look at liu bei's eyes like a loser, he lost jing province and ruined all of their plans and destroyed all of their efforts in those years for long zhong plan In the series his men wanted him to scape to shanyong(i guess its name was something like this and it was near on jing-yi provinces border and governed by liu bei's forces but he wasted time before accepting it and you know what happend after it The biggest enemy of those three brothers were their own mind...

Gildur Zhou Caocao's best could be either Dian Wei / Xu Chu or Zhang Liao, Xiahou Dun's a fine general but not a top class warrior. check the novel and u'll see that he never defeated any famous warrior in duel but of course, in real history these men are all famous for their military capability instead of martial art capacity

Nope Guan Yu was never China's best. He was extremely good, but more known for his virtues and pride. Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Zhao Yun were arguably better than him, and the best from Wei and Wu like Zhang Liao or Tai Shi Ci are probably on par.

Xiahou Dun defeat a bunch early on in the novel. He also lasted 30 rounds with Lu Bu and Guan Yu (with one eye). Both times were draws as the fights were interrupted. Xiaohou Dun involvement became less after lost the eye. But also Xiahou brothers were always ranked higher than the likes of Zhang Liao, Xu Huang. While Cao Cao was fighting Lu Bu, Xiaohou Dun was already made general（将) where as Xu Huang and Xu Chu were Colonels (尉). This may be because XIaohous are Cao Cao's relatives, but the Xiahou borthers just as good in battle.

Wouldn't be sure. Pang De actually was described to not only to be just strong and brave but he was quick that he was able to fight Guan Yu over 100 rounds. Well, that was the novel and he dueled Guan Yu twice as well Guan Ping. Records stated that he did end up defeating Guan Yu by slicing his forehead with an arrow that Guan Yu called him the "White Horse General" and did in fact feared him that he doesn't want to fight Pang De again. In fact, he probably would lose to the younger Guan Yu but we can't be sure since the age difference as well that Pang De was robust as hell since his posthumous title was "Marquis Zhuang" and it means 'robust marquis'. Probably like Zhang Fei robust which is frightening. Guan Yu's main Wei rival was either Zhang Liao or Xu Huang. Romance described that it might be Zhang Liao due to how skilled both are but Records had it to be Xu Huang who actually defeated Guan Yu in a duel and he was described to be like a knight. Despite the fact who was his rival, Xu Huang ended up beating Guan Yu in both Romance and Records.

Actually. Pang De was so good that they fought each other to a draw each day for 3 days. Pang De's superiors were rushing him to finish off and that's why he went to sword. Guan Yu was injured by both. Cao Ren's arrow was poisoned, that's why that incident is more famous.

In the book Pang De went toe to toe with Guan Yu for 100 rounds (回合) per day for 3 days, and Pang De only thought of shooting him with an arrow after the second day and was rushed by his superior Yu Jin to finish Guan Yu off. If it wasn't for Guan Yu's sidekick Zhou Cang saving him, Pang De would have caught him alive. I'm sick of these depictions always ass kiss Shu and reduce Wei and Wu generals to look useless and dumbasses. If Wei was that bad, how did they dominated everyone basically the entire novel? Shu by far was the weakest throughout.

Shu always the underdog. Their power based on their leader. So, its quite understandable that figures at their party looks overpower. some indeed are overated due the novel like alone Zhang Fei scream in Chang Ban scared an entire legion of wei or Zhou Yun solo escaped an army. But thats what make 3 kingdoms such a great romance anyway. And for Guan Yu, even not my favorite, you cant argue that the series kiss his ass too much since the Chinise named a god of war to his name.
