I lived in Guanabo in 1959.....nothing hardly is new...things and homes are so old and not able to be upgraded or painted...those trucks are aweful and in reality the beauty comes from God as the water is and was beautiful...so sorry for the one's that stayed behind because the Castro family has done so little for them. what shame that foreigners are the ones trying to make a business from our birth country..

We went to el Guarjiro for lunch when we were in Guanabo. Amazing. Piccolo is amazing for pizza and pasta as well. Love this town!! [We stayed close by near Playa del Este at hotel Atlantico.]

George...I am sure you will enjoy your stay in Gabago. It is a small town but people are very friendly and beaches are great. You could also go and visit Havana. I stayed in Gran Caribe Club Atlantico and went to Havana every day. There are city buses going going to Havana from Ganabo...I'm sure it's not very expensive to get there. I started thinking about my next trip to Cuba in March 2014...it's so hard to pick just one place :)

hello windstarmolly,nice video,thanks,i will be travelling to guanabo in nov 2013,staying with the family of a friend,i am curious as to your point of view as to the general atmosphere,the people i am sure are ok....but beaches,tourtist type places food,restaurants...just your take on spending time in and around the area thanks,if you can and thanks if u cant
