For trade hubs at least, especially Jita, I actually burn out a tactical that's completely off of the station grid (typically that is around 20,000km-35,000km, but due to the fact that grids are often "stretched" by traffic and other ships who may also be a good distance away in the same direction I actually made mine all the way out like ~175,000km, which even takes a hot minute in my abyssal'd out purpose-built Dramiel stable at 14.5km/s cold lmao). Not super necessary for most ppl out there but if you're involved in anything where it would be of interest for a hostile party to observe which gate you head to when leaving the trade hub then I would recommend it.
@LifesGuardian Жыл бұрын
@@SargonOfAmerish Agreed. For that reason I always go from my insta-undock to 1 of 4 safes I've made. Overkill maybe, since I never do any hauling, but I like the knowledge that if someone wanted to gank me, theyd have to guess where I was going. Not fool-proof, but it's something.

Some more tips: 1. Give all ganking corps a negative standing, so you can see them in local 2. Have an alt that can jump through next gate and scout 3. Use this alt in a cruor/hyena with long range webs, 28km+ so you can web your freighter pilot and be in warp in 3s instead of 30s 4. If you get locked/scanned or recocknize some suspicious pilots or even have just a bad feeling, then go dock up 5. Have a look at "lost ships in last hour" on the eve map and your route 6. Dont carry small items with large ISK value in a freighter. For these things, use blockade runners.

For small high value items a sub-2 align ship can be better than a blockade runner. Some gankers just shoot at blockade runners expecting it to have something valuable. You can use some frigates, some t3 destroyers or the Sunesis to achieve sub-2 align. But the bookmarks are a must have. Just put the insta-undock way further away than recommended in the video
@danschmidt62069 ай бұрын
Yeah a webbing alt is huge. Basically means you only need to think about cargo expanders or hyperspatials in the lows. Bulkheads are pointless IMO, since if you're carrying high enough value to get ganked, it's probably still profitable even with bulkheads. I'm not certain but I think if your corp's settings disallows friendly fire, then you still get concorded even if you web a freighter in hisec. I actually bring two webbing alts sometimes when I go full hyperspatials with hg-ascendancy implants since that brings the freighter warp speed/time closer to a slow hauler. It's one of the fastest ways to move 500k cargo.

One small minor Quality of Life for Instadock bookmarks - especially in Jita - if you have the autopilot destination set to the station, then after you start warp to the bookmark, you can hit autopilot. Once this is done, the ship will immediately dock when it lands at the bookmark. It is minor quality of life thing, but means you don't have to worry about spamming dock when you land at the bookmark.

@goldeneagle256 Жыл бұрын
not just apparently, it actually do. and if you wanna know the mechanic behind it, this is how it works. so your ship need to reach 75% of your maximum speed before it goes into warp. now if you apply couple of really good webs to it, that drops your maximum speed down by like 70-80% and therefore make you reach 75% of that new lower maximum speed more or less instantly. this is allso the reason if you attack someone, you should allways make sure to scram/point them before you apply web to hold them down. have proper web ships on an alt wile moving expencive capital ships around in high sec never bad idea. you allso better off using the providence in high sec over the charon. it have lower cargo capacity, but the big benefit is that it can be armor tanked instead of hull tanked, and theres implants that can give quite significant hps increase. on top you can have command ship with you that do armor boost to increase the tank even further if you want

The most important tip is "don't haul a lot of valuables in one trip". Ganking corporations scan you, know your fit and how many EHP you have and know how many ships they need to gank you. If that's less than half the amount you're hauling, you will be ganked. So, even if it takes a long time, please equip the god damn reinforced bulkheads when you're traveling with goods and never carry more than one billion at a time. SO some of this is good but some ideas. (1) DO NOT make bookmarks 150km off the station. Your close enough to get burned to with a fast ship in no time and a freighter cannot align and get out fast enough( if your smaller faster ship it works fine). There are ships out there that overheat and burn 13,000 meters a second. 10 seconds they are on you and even with full tech 2 Inertial stabs and implant warp is about 17 or so seconds in the freighter. (2) Get an alt or second account( if you dont want to do it on main) and undock which has a degree variance it uses so it almost never shoots you out straight. I just keep undocking till I get a pretty close to straight one. I undock in a fast ship ( 2500 ms or higher) and go out at least 1000 KM. IF YOU can go far enough where you are OFF that grid and unsee-able on the ship list. Not always going to work because grids are different but that is ok 1000 km is good. Just walk away for an hour good enough if its a second account. (3) Station insta is great not sure if a freighter is going to bounce off that or not have to test it (4) Ah yes the old school on top of the gate bookmarks and hey if you put those in a SHARED FOLDER and have the rest of your corp connect to it then EVERYBODY can use them ( not sure if you have gone over how to share bookmarks)

Thanks for this tip. I don't get ganked, I am only an Alpha running Tayras with a capacity of 26K volume or the Miasmos ore haulers. I know this tip will come in handy for us Alpha players. My anti-gank method has always been to stay away from the beaten paths. I set my shortest (auto-path) to Jita or Dodixie, then look for hotspots. Using the built in map feature of "Ships destroyed in the last hour" I avoid these systems with current issues. As Alpha, I don't haul billions but I have aided others by flying as scout. I use my corvette to scout the system ahead of the convoy and tell them to jump ahead or remain. The benefit of being an Alpha, I could have a huge load and haul it on auto pilot from dock to dock without losing it, while I go watch TV or grab a coffee. This feat is accomplished using my knowledge of logistics. Thanks for the great tips.

Listen, I like this video and all, but if someone wants to gank you there is nothing you can do with a group large enough. The real safest way to haul is to deflect the risk to others, hauling contracts with red frog, they have the best price and fastest time, and if your items get ganked you get the isk collateral, it's the only true 100% safe way to move anything.

@Brian Szymczak very true, but this is the only way that is 100% safe, because you personally have no risk, the risk is that you will have to rebuy your items with the isk you get from collateral. Which you should set 10% higher than your items to ensure profits if the shipment is lost.

My experience is that you get ganked warping from a gate, not arriving at one. Even if you warp right on top and jump through one, they're just going to follow you through and hit you when you're aligning on the other side. I mean, there's a reason gate camps are always focused on ships arriving through the gate. Sorry but these tips, while useful in minimizing certain risks, are not going to save your freighter. And if - as you claim - you have never lost one, I'd say you'd either been incredibly lucky or you just don't fly one. 18 years of Eve for me and I know that one ship I can guarantee losing at some point is a Freighter, if going anywhere near Jita anyway.

Right. I love the channel's content and delivery overall, but saying you're "guaranteed safe" with these tips undermines credibility. Still a fan, though ❤

Ok, if you want to haul, you do this if you use a freighter. You get 2 friends that you trust. The 2 friends need cheap fast AF frigates with 2 webs and max warp speed and scan resolution. You duel both of them, once you land in a system, you stay clocked, one frigate jumps one system ahead the other stays on gate. You hit jump at 0 with the freighter. The second the freighter pops up on your overview you dual web the freighter. Once that is done the freighter will instantly jump. Jump the freighter and in the next system you do the same. The freighter jumps so slowly that the frigs will be able to wait the timer and keep ahead of the freighter. Thank me later, there is nothing like seeing a freighter enter warp sideways or even backwards

Here's another tip...don't assume that just because your ship is empty you can autopilot and it'll be left alone. Back when I was newer I'd gotten my first freighter (Charon) and I had practically nothing and definitely nothing of worth in it I was tired so I set it to autopilot back to my home station. Woke up later with it in station and it had no armor and most of the structure was gone (shields had regenerated by the time I got up and checked on it) and an email from some random guy that said, "Dude, you better get out of here before they come back to finish the job!" I emailed him back and asked him what happened. Apparently Rooks & Kings had tried to gank it. (and this was before you could put fittings on them) They apparently lost several tempests and the guy who emailed me also send me a screen cap of all the loot he got from their wrecks hahaah...I was VERY lucky.

@@lorumerthgaming I've even had shuttles blown up that were on autopilot (yes, in highsec and no...also carrying nothing). And coming from someone who knows what it's like to have to wait out gate gun timers in lowsec you wouldn't think someone would blow their wad on a shuttle since they'd have to wait it out in station for 15 minutes when something that's SURE to be more valuable or look better on your killboard might come along. So you can't always apply any kind of rationale to their behavior. (i.e. Oh they wouldn't take the sec status hit for MY ship...it's a nothing ship with nothing in it.) Yeah...sometimes they do.

@@lorumerthgaming The only difference is in null, you go around making bounce and perch points as well as zero on gate points for larger ships. This is only to avoid bubbles which are almost always aligned to gates or nearest-to-gate celestials. Relying on celestials can be dangerous. Even worse, relying on a system to be spread wide (angle to gate) is not advised. Long, thin systems with a gate far away can get you caught in a bubble from any celestial. To counter this natural trap, it is advised to make safes off grid perpendicular to the system's length orientation. This takes time even for an inty w/ mwd. Get off grid when system is empty sometime near downtime, make the spots both on grid and off. You will definitely appreciate having them. If the gate itself is bubbled (small gates usually), pick another time or another route if you can't crash the gate before getting locked up and murdered. If both sides are bubbled (kinda rare), again, pick another time or be really good at forcing aggression, taking a few hits and then peacing out. Or you can just kill them with a ship fitted to counter them but often that is not practical unless you're carrying a mobile depot to refit on at a safe spot away from d-scan (> 14.3AU). Then by all means, refit to counter and make a small gate camp cry. The more advanced stuff is predicated on knowing the area at least 5 jumps out very well and being able to anticipate how long it takes for the blob to come save the camp you're going to obliterate. Knowledge is power. Eyes, zkill, corp history, allies they have and any other intel is precious. Even with perfect knowledge, stealth dictors can scan and bubble you from any direction. It takes a hot minute or so but not that long for a dictor to reposition cloaked. That alone is why zkill is so important. If they have killmails in dictors, you're really pressing your luck. That's what makes null so much more difficult. You have to think ahead about what your enemies (pretty much everyone) will do and do good research before you embark. Even then, you're always throwing the dice to some extent. Minimizing the chances of getting caught is the only strat that really works. Dual boxing makes this process infinitely more efficient with a scout alt in a 'won't miss it' covops frig. Let the scout take the heat if you're not in for a fight just to test how well organized they are and if it's possible to proceed. If it's too hot, safe log (if combat probes are out of if you see a probe ship on d-scan DON'T DO. get into another system to safe log out of d-scan range.) and don't be impatient. Null capsuleers get bored eventually and will forget you were there unless you're moving something really really juicy by yourself which is inadvisable altogether unless you know exactly what you are doing.

All of these are pretty good tipps (except for the insta undock, that should be straight and not as off center and second ideally off grid) but why go through the trouble of making insta jump bookmarks if you are then going to be vulnerable on the other side for half a minute? Talking about web alts or getting a friend to web you into warp should be the number one tipp to move freight with a freighter in a safeish manner. Only once you have minimized your vulnerablility during align you should start caring about all the other, much smaller, vulnerabilities.

This must be a hi-sec only guide? Wouldn't bubbles in low or null-sec still result in near guaranteed death? I'm still a newbro, sorry if this is supposed to be a super obvious fact XD (Thanks Loru for the overview!)

You should never take a freighter into LowSec unless escorted by allies. Freighters are HiSec vessels.
@goldeneagle256 Жыл бұрын
only places you use freighters in null sec are withinn your corps systems, and rarely more then couple jumps at most. if you need to go bit further, then you simply use jump freighters instead. less cargo space, but they jump directly from station to station, so unless you mess up badly by jumping to wrong cyno or something, they 100% safe. we usually even use JFs when we only need to move 1 system over, because jumping that short time dont really cost any fuel, and you dont build up any jump timer

Hello I need your help very quickly. Is it possible to jump to or from Jita with a jump freighter? If so, how? Or you can make a video about it with a basic explanation about jump freighters. There is already a dispute about the topic and we have agreed that you should be the judge. Sorry I have to drag you in there. But we all look at your vidios and value your opinion and knowledge.Thanks in advance.

I must say awesome video and great tips but in all honest it begs me to question what´s the damn point with t1 freighters ? I mean you need to take several extra steps not to get ganked and and t2 ships haulers in a sense is a safer bet. But it also begs to question what fracking point is it that we have Concord when even they can´t save your ass from ganker´s. Like if you ask me Gankers has way way way to much leeway to frack you up big time.

def good points. I typically use my T2 hauler, and use the freighter for bulky ish

Never say never Eve is and always will be about ships being blown up you will be ganked there is no way to prevent a determined ganker/gankers from finding a way to kill you after 17 years in eve ive been ganked in highsec once As sun tzu said "The opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself." and exactly so i provided the gankers exactly what they needed to gank my jf by forgetting to move my emergence cyno 1 jump over and being out of range

I was about to ask if you wouldn't recommend the MWD Trick for getting to and from these ice mining locations, but then I remembered this is a High Sec video. Afterburner it is! This is a nice fit. I am out here mining in it and all I have to do is listen for the sound of someone warping into the area, and have my cursor on the cloak button if it's not another miner. Then I'm cloaked even before they are done warping if it's a Catalyst or something. I still have PTSD of watching miners getting ganked in HIGH SEC right next to me!

Or, simply pay a serious PvP corp to escort you. It's fair after all, if you are a solo player. It's also a nice way of making friends. And it's a 100% sure way, no ganker is going to attack a fleet of cruisers + marauders.

Dude just go to Uedama and you will be gunked with your Fraighter. Freighters are caught when aligning. No one will catch you at the undock you will be caught at the next gate when you start accelerating.

@grondhero Жыл бұрын
Gankers will have scanner alts sitting outside trade hubs. If it takes you 30-90 seconds to align, that gives them plenty of time to scan you. When you do the un-dock location, they won't be able to scan you (because it's an instant undock). Then you'll be far enough away that they won't fly out to you to scan you. *HOWEVER* Gankers will often put a scout around the 100k - 150k range, (especially during the "Burn Jita" phase) because they _know_ that's what people do when they first learn this trick. What you _should_ do is put an undock bookmark(s) at 300k _or more_ so there is a less than 1% chance they'll have a scanner there.

Ok, "you will never be ganked" is a lie If gankers have enough DPS, they can and will kill you, whenever youre jumping in the system you are a target and have absolutely no means of escape i someone wants to tackle you. The only way to (kinda) avoid this is to use scout/webbing alt.
@mixwizzard8681 Жыл бұрын
if i spam duel to a freighter thats in transit then its still possible with a naga/or BS bump i can still kill you. spamming duel every 5 seconds and bumping. you will be overwelmed by popup madness. there is a setting you need to deactivate but ill let you work that out for your self. i,ve killed 30 plus freighters useing this method. 15 year VET but not played in 6 months. bookmarks that close to a gate can cause you to bounce off the gate in such a large ship, ie a highly camped gate good luck i may resub to kill a giant turd

I watched this just cause I just got ganked in a freighter and none of those method would have saved it. freighter with empty cargo has 1-5% of getting ganked out of fleet boredom. Expanded cargo freighter needs 200mil in fleet loses to gank. Nano Fiber freighter 400mil in loses. bulkhead freighter 800mil. These are not exact numbers but give some idea. if your cargo exceeds these numbers your % for getting ganked increases and once your cargo is double its 100% going to get ganked if scanned. Fly safe good luck. PS your overview should have all ships shown and if one has flashing yellow they are scanning you and you have one chance to dock maybe.
