For Scale of Souls, you need to be balanced for it to trigger, and it also checks for Balance on resolution

They had to tone down Tonoris' level 2 otherwise it'd be extremely overpowered in conjunction with his CSR. Like instaban before the format even starts overpowered.

tonoris lvl 1 in aggro with resolute stand is really scary imo agianst another aggro matchup. I establish arthur and another minion and hold one resolute stand on taunt against your negligent assault.

I read all of the comments hoping there would be an answer here. Does anyone know if you can use Scale of Souls on your turn prior to the check?

You can do it prior to recollection if something is materialized, in response to the materialization or any triggers that might result. Otherwise, once you hit recollection, the trigger is only performed if you have balance right then. And it only grants the recovery if you still have balance as it resolves. That should be right, hopefully I can count on Rem to correct me if I'm wrong here!

Thank you for the reply! I should have phrased it better, I meant from the start of the recollection phase (assuming no start of turn triggers or materialize triggers). Thank you for the clarification! We’ve only played a dozen games or so ourselves, and we are hoping we get all of the rules correct! (Only I have read the comprehensive rules, and it would be easy to overlook something from that document, for me at least!)@@MaindeckGames

i wasn't very interested in this game due to the early champions and art having a very samey look to it, compared to japanese card games, even Force of Will which pulls from a lot of fairytales still has more dynamic character design in the art BUT THEN YOU SHOWED ME ARISANNA and now I am sitting here daydreaming about being an atelier trying to dodge sword jabs just hyperfocused on making the perfect potion

I can see that. As the game continues, I think they are figuring art style and direction out more. So far, I'm really enjoying the styles in ALC. Arisanna looks amazing!
