I actually really love the design for the pelagir marines :) I think some people forget that gondor isnt just minis tirith, and that it is a kingdom of many different cultures and cities. This mod does an awesome job of showing some of those cultural differences through the uniforms of the location specific units, like the axemen of lassarnoch being essentially saxon huscarl inspired, showing the warrior culture of that area. Or the marines having a more bare bones uniform, favouring mobility and speed over the regular gondorian soldiers, reflecting the prominence of naval warfare to the city of pelagir. This whole mod does to middle earth what 1212AD does to the medieval period, brings it to life! :)

I honestly can't wait until this mod is released. Something I've noticed in the last few vids I've watched: Seems to be a bit of blur whenever you move the camera. Not sure if that's a KZbin compression thing or if you have a variable bitrate when you render your videos. If it's a matter of bitrate, you can fix it by enabling a constant bitrate. Anything between 20 and 50mbps will smooth it out. Great content as always, PA. I look forward to these videos every day.

"Pike don't get many kills." Pikes historically aren't used to kill, they are used to stop charges and in pusing contests against tight formations. Pikes don't directly kill quite as much as others. It was when they drop the pikes and run down the formation that lost the pushing contests against them with swords that they cause the most damage then.

they should tweak the stats on pike formations in this game... both the fountain guards and the uruk pikes underperformed massively... can't go buffing the pikemen themselves, otherwise they'd be too tough against flanking attacks, but if the formation gave far greater buffs to melee attack it could work as it used to in medieval 2.

I think the Uruk pikes have a more difficult time with infantry because once you get past the sharp end (don't know the real word for it) you're just surrounded by a wooden tunnel more or less and the more that people do that the more danger the pike unit would even be in terms of their fighting style. They'd drop their pikes and fight with a sword and not fight with their namesake.So just maneuver around them and I'm not even talking about the flanks. As for cavalry they fight with a speed and spatial advantage (charges) so their strength would be their weakness. I'm not even a novice in spear combat just to let you know, although I am interested in this tactic.
