I was so excited to find MT after New Rockstars. This is how I like my breakdowns and theory videos. I use to like New Rockstar but I feel like they now want to be something that I didn't like. Definitely a long video, but it's great seeing aspects of the first two Volumes in hindsight of their sequels *and* the MCU as a whole. The explanation of all the energy/stone types is in-depth and helps explain creatures from within the universe.

Trigger theory is the single greatest aspect of the entire MCU. Any time I see new content, my first thought it how the new colors will apply to the theory. I wish there was an entire content collection of only trigger theory discussions! Also, stealing away MT remains the biggest coup in the entire mcu KZbin content industry. Can’t believe they let him go, and Paul deserves awards for scooping him up. The only thing better would be if Feige stole him away from Paul!

Wonderful breakdown, definitely makes GOTG and the whole MCU more interesting for me. One question I have though, is why the energy that fed the tumour Ego put in Meredith Quill is understood as Ego's love for Meredith, rather than Meredith's love for Ego. You said that Ego was a being of dark energy, feeding on evolution energy, the source of which was the Earth's Sun via Meredith. If he could produce what he needed by being with Meredith, why would he have to leave? It would have been an infinite evolution hack, he could have stayed, there would be no conflict of interest. It makes more sense that it was Meredith's pure, agenda-less love for Ego feeding the tumour, which was basically a parasite. I am doubtful his love for her was as real as described, but until we all agree on a falsifiable definition of love, I supposed only the ones involved can decide if it was real. But back to the idea of what was producing the energy he needed, his leaving a tumour in her body instead of staying at her side makes sense if he didn't love her back. Because with time, the act would have been exposed, and her love would fade. But by disappearing suddenly, he was forever enshrined in her mind, making her an energy generator for him as long as she lived. At 2:21:05 you talk about the tumour grafting his celestial DNA onto Peter, but why would that be necessary? Rather than the tumour being necessary for the specialness of Peter, a simpler explanation is that the tumour was planted in her body THROUGH Peter, which is a known risk of pregnancy (cancer, not celestial parasites). One other thing I find interesting is that Meredith described Ego as a being of pure light, but Ego was a being of dark energy. I prefer the idea that as he spent time with her he was extracting her evolution energy, so she could see the light, but not knowing what was being done to her, she misattributed the light to have come from him.

Now I’m not comparing Pratt to Harrison ford because nobody can match ford. But there’s no one else who could have done a better job as space lord. Actually the entire cast couldn’t be replaced other than vin diesel. No one else could have played drax like Batista. James Gunn is good at casting it’s the same with peacemaker l really like Jon cena in that role and I’m not much of a fan of some of his early work but he can act with the right director I guess?
