When I was at SOS in residence, we had a Space Ops guy in the class. His description of what he did was so general that even the instructor fell asleep. If I were you all, I would definitely look at the upward mobility of each respect field under the Space Ops umbrella. When you get promoted by what your OPR say and all of what you do is so sensitive, it can not go on an unclassified document, you might be looking at a 12 year career end as an officer. Just an observation.

My dream is to become a Space Systems Operator and I've been stocking up on EVERYTHING I can learn about the Space Force. What degrees or certifications do the higher ups generally prefer? How can I best prepare myself to join the Space Force in the future? Any noteworthy things I need to look out for in the enlistment process? @yingyang7448 TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST: For Space Force you must be a US citizen You cannot be a Conscientious Objector. A conscientious objector is an individual who has claimed the right to refuse to perform military service on the grounds of freedom of thought, conscience, or religion. Any Law Violations will need to be evaluated Any use of illegal drugs or misuse of prescription medication will need to be evaluated You will also have a credit check run looking for delinquencies and overbalanced credit. Be between the ages of 17- must be in BMT before age 42. If age 17 you will need parental consent Be in good health and any medical issues will need to be evaluated. Air Force applicants are encouraged to meet height and weight requirements before contacting a recruiter, however you may still contact an Air Force Recruiter for information. Applicants are considered on a best-to-least qualified basis. @@USAirForceRecruiting Oh wow! Thank you for replying so fast! I've actually already submitted my enlistment packet online back in late November to my Air Force recruiter. It's a waiting game now to see what his commander says. My Air Force Recruiter told me that since I don't have degree and since I have a lot going on in terms of the waiver process that I shouldn't even bother trying to get into the Space Force. So what I'm going to do is if his commander doesn't give me a choice of which job to choose (likely), I'll go into the Air Force and try to cross train/transfer for a Space Systems Operations job in the Space Force down the line. Is that an option? If they give me a mechanics job could I BOTH cross train AND transfer into another job in another branch while in service? Thank you for your time. 1/16/2024.

@yingyang7448 Airman may apply to cross train into a different career 13 months prior to the end of their enlistment provided they are qualified and will reenlist. The Air Force does not cross train/retrain an Airman unless that Airman reenlists. You would need to check with other branches their requirements for prior service careers. So, in the Academy or in college before BCT….are they called Space Cadets?😁 Jk….former USAF. Excited that this force now is exclusively focused on securing the USA in cyber and space battle spaces. Yes, the AF did it….but this seems more effective focus in satellite and space domains and threats unique to those theaters. Thanks for your dedication.

Alpha Delta Marines is Air Force. Im still Master Chief in Space Force, but I might rank up and do my job as Master Chief too. Ive got equipment and gear to make. The visor of the helmet is one two. Ive got to punch it right, and the contacts we need might be of help, but we have to get the technology right.

I have heard so much backlash on accepting marines without having a critical mos. Infact, I don't know any former marines that went to the space force, only the air force. I do not have a critical mos. Am I still able to transfer into the space force? Serious question. I have two years left on my contract (a total of 8 years) and would like to potentially start the process in which ever way I can.

Is it possible to become a Space Force Officer with a Bachelors CyberSecurity after signing up? Or do you need to be Enlisted first even if you have a Bachelors CyberSecurity?

I’m currently enlisted Space Force and some of my fellow teammates that are also Cyber already have a Bachelors in Cyber or Computer Science. I know that going officer route is extremely competitive in the Space Force and it seems like in order to be competitive to commission you need at least a Masters.
