I’ve read the horrible and crude comments from people who don’t truly know what this is about and would just like to say that these women making speeches are using their platform to talk about a serious matter. And what Halsey said her poem is true without a platform it’s hard to make an impact, these women are doing what they can, using their platform, to make a change. Some of them may or may not have been sexually assaulted but they still go out their and speak for women’s rights and human rights. There were speeches being made not just about women’s rights but also about equal rights for everyone despite your race, gender, or sexual orientation. Speak up. We need more awareness for sexual assault among men. It is a problem that gets overlooked or just gets used to silence women survivors. It's all just wrong. I hope you're alright and that you can work your way through something that horrible. I just want you to know that I think Halsey wasn't trying to deny your pain and your trauma. She's just talking about what she knows, she's a woman who's been through a lot.
