The pop industry, which Halsey is in, often look past that because it's often just 'popularity'. I think this is why Halsey thought she was still Alternative, because her motives and background are so different, but she seems to be embracing her pop star status and making her presence and agenda be known more powerfully now. I think the pop industry needs her very much, and she truly is here to help change happen

I mean, it's okay to find her annoying. That doesn't mean anything about her, it just means you personally don't like her (and with singers, a lot of them have annoying music, or styles, or whatever, but that obviously doesn't mean they're bad people.) Maybe there's something about her that you find to be annoying, and even the best people can have some really irritating qualities.

"I don't get on a stage and not say what I mean." That got me. So proud of every single woman out there fighting to be heard. We've come a long way, but the road ahead is even longer. I want my future daughters to never have to worry about if what they're saying is too "smart" or considered unladylike the way I did and still do sometimes. I'm only 19 and I hear so many negative things about millennials and gen z youngsters. But you can't deny that we mean business.

She has helped me in so many ways, and her music always has a message. I don't think she understands the impact she has on people. She is so powerful and capable of so many things. She is also so beautiful. Ugh I just wish I can meet her. My favorite lines of this speech is "and with all do respect to the media teams, I don't get on stage and not say what I mean" And then theres "so I'm not sorry for being inconvenient, you're not put on this earth to make everyone's life easier so please be inconvenient. *I've heard stories about Halsey that made me almost not want to click on this video. It took me the first page, to take my finger off of the "FFWD/Next" button. I'm so glad I clicked on it & so glad I stayed! This was ironically, inconvenient... but so worth it! Amazed. Inspired. Blown away. I'm definitely going to pay more attention to Halsey in the future! Thank you Glamour & even more thanks to Halsey for delivering a beautiful, piece of art!* 💞💕💕💞

I needed to hear this - at this moment in fact. Cuz I’ve been inconvenient and feelin attacked. They mock me for my political views, But thanks to your poem, Halsey, I’ll keep standing up true. My boss found out I protested the Presidents arrival so now they all taunt me as if I’m involved in a scandal. I’m just trying to be me and earn a living - while showing love even if we have conflicting opinions. their words of hate towards others are louder now as they discriminate. They loved me before they found out I’m a liberal - out here in the back woods - middle of nowhere. As much as I’d like to hate them back - I’ll give them a smile - and prove love isn’t wack. I won’t quit and walk out like I’ve done in the past - but I won’t be silent if asked where I stand.

I realized the perfect comment for me to convey, when I was young I never knew this would happen someday. I tried and I cried and gave it my all but back then people really had gall...gall that’s not accepted now. I was an “inconvenient” girl. I’m happy to see this changing now and maybe we CAN really be empowered and excel like men are able to.
