Brilliant shots of the Scot at Shap Steve the weather in the morning was much more favourable were as pm it went wet in my local area, although it did not look to bad further north by your good results on the S & C. Thanks for sharing Brian

I'd like to echo the remarks of some of your other viewers. Thanks for standing in the cold and wet to bring us these little bits of history. Looked like the crew and the loco were at the top of there game. Super video Steve, well done 🤓

Might sound it but apparently she still wasn't 100% healthy, hence the diesel was on the back.

@MasterMoyle2 жыл бұрын
The Scot still wasn't right unfortunately so was one of the reasons they needed the diesel on the back. Had it not been on the back then they still would've added it on at Hellifield.
@TheStephengthompson2 жыл бұрын
@@MasterMoyle Thanks David, was told West Coast insisted on adding the 47 but according to my sources the Scot passed it’s FTR without any issues. As for Hellifield it’s a good job the diesel was on as apparently the water pipe to the water column was still frozen hence the Scot was pushed from Hellifield.

Load 11, and the Brush was barely powering, mainly just there to provide train heating
@TheStephengthompson2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrei, certainly going for it on Shap and like you say not much from the 47 👍
@MasterMoyle2 жыл бұрын
I went on that tour and going up Shap she really wasn't keeping quiet as they certainly had the regulator open going up the 1 in 75 climb. The front passenger brake coach behind the support coach is where I was seated. From the M6 overbridge at Tebay to Shap Summit they managed the climb in 7 minutes 31.1 seconds at a minimum speed of 33mph.
@431552 жыл бұрын
I was on the tour also and WCRC staff said the 47 was there to provide train heat and to provide assistance if needed. However, she performed well and sounded good, I enjoyed it that’s the main thing.
@MasterMoyle2 жыл бұрын
@@43155 had to push the train after Hellifield though as the ruddy mains had frozen up so watering couldn't be done.

OK but spoilt by poor definition
@TheStephengthompson2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for you not liking the definition although I must admit the third clip suffered in the editing as I had to mess about with it and oddly it lost clarity 🤷The rain on the return didn’t help either 😂
@TheStephengthompson2 жыл бұрын
Going back to your comment I’m not seeing anything about definition quality especially from my other comments 🤔
