Guava Delights (Sri Lankan Recipes) 🍐 Making Cordial, Cotton Candy, Creamy Cake, and More Treats!

In today's video, join me as we dive into the world of well-ripened red guavas! With fifteen to twenty red guavas harvested earlier, it was time to transform them into delicious creations. Since red guavas don't last long, I started by making guava cordial. Scraping the guavas to get the pulp, I boiled it with sugar, salt, water, and some lime, turning the mixture into a beautiful dark red cordial.
➡️ For the first time, I attempted to make cotton candy using guava cordial. Twisting and pulling the sugar ball into fine strings was like watching the strings of a Veena break. The result? Amazing guava-flavored cotton candy! I also made jelly cubes with red guavas and blue butterfly pea flowers, letting them dry under the sun to become a delightful candy.
Uncle Sumith brought us river shrimps, which I marinated with butter, pepper, salt, and garlic. I served these as an appetizer, along with corn and potatoes, and a side of guava pickle. The next day, I baked an incredible cake with red guavas.

Xin chào/Hello Poorna from Viet Nam! I have been watching many of your videos and I find your cooking both interesting and relaxing. Sri Lanka cuisine is both similar and different from Vietnamese cuisine, I love seeing new dishes from other cultures. I especially like the guava coconut with sago in this video. What a creative and refreshing way to drink coconut water! In Viet Nam coconut water is very common too, but I've never found anyone drinks it with guava and sago.
